Guest guest
Glenda, Call your doctor & get it tested. Mine is high again & my booty sympathizes with yours, sore doesn't really describe it. Are you sleeping much? One thing I've noticed, every time my ammonia goes up I start dozing off on the couch for an hour or two at a time. Normally I don't nap but ammonia seems to turn me into the nap monster. SpYke is not fond of that - HE can Nap his life away but if I do it's feed me time in the old homestead. Also, my spelling goes to -ell. SuZieglendajohn25@... wrote: I cannot notice my ammonia level high but my friends have told me I am forgetting thing. I am taking my medicine, but should call doctor, I even raise level of meds and my poor booty is pretty sore Thank you and hugs, Glenda Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com. Guest guest
How do you know if your ammonia goes up? and why are we concerned? I've never heard of this before. Thanks for any information gang. Guest guest
The only way to know for sure is a blood test. We worry about ammonia because it's what causes the dreaded "brain fog" or that's what they think. You forget things, sleep a lot & can go into a coma but it's easily taken care of. Your doctor would prescribe Lactulose (in the States, in Canada it's OTC) This makes you go - a lot - which gets the ammonia out before it can do anything. It does make your booty sore. Guest guest
Hi suzie... Anya, sorry to say that it (ammonia) combined with bile, and what ever else the liver cant handle in a timely fashion, can cause one to have a pretty grose body odor, and I think that is basically due to sweating out, instead of peeing or pooping it out. That is only my opinion. Pretty Gross eh? Delimansuzie wrote: The only way to know for sure is a blood test. Guest guest
Suzie explained it, but this happens in ESLD when your liver can’t process the toxins. You don’t have to worry about it until you get to that stage. This is when your liver disease is said to be decompensated.
