Guest guest Posted July 15, 2011 Report Share Posted July 15, 2011 Hello all, my name is Sue Mcafee and I'm from Cooke county Texas. I have Four Jersey cows and A few jersey holstein heifers. I have been drinking raw milk for about five years now. I am a cancer survivor and started drinking it after my second go around with cancer. My cows serve a dual purpose. I love them and they give me purpose and keep me busy and active, secondly their milk has seemingly done wonders. I am lucky my doctor has actually supported my decision to drink raw milk. He believes in it's benefits also. I am currently wanting to expand my cow project and sell milk. We have used it to feed our family and other farm animals and calves. In Texas we can sell it on the farm if we become a grade A dairy. I want to do that but it is not easy! Anyway I will look forward to learning and sharing! He is not in favor of the sell of raw milk but it is legal if we pass all inspections. It will take us quite awhile I'm sure. I know I am much safer drinking raw milk than the hormone laden milk from the store!! I had breast cancer and it is the type that is "estrogen sensitive" I know for certain my cows are never given any hormones and I am very careful about their feed etc..Sue Sent from my iPhone Hi Sue, Welcome! The requirements are not as bad as they sound, but if your inspector is not friendly to raw milk, he may be very strict. I just received my Grade A raw milk license for my goat milk. Tammy K.
