You know, I've had folks tell me they think I'm brave...and I just laugh. Brave??? I just do what I have to do to get by. Brave is not a word I've ever used to describe myself, but I guess getting to be 55 and still alive, well I suppose I was a bit brave just waking up each of these very many days! hit the head on the nail (so to speak - haha it's a pun with the other thing - haha). Accepting a chronic disease is a daily challenge. Whenever I felt sick in the past, I knew there were steps to get all better. Get some exercise, get some sleep, lose some weight, let the cold run its course, and so on. On a daily basis I still get those thoughts of , " when I get better, Ill....... Don't feel as if you're alone or that others are worse off or better off.....we're all in the same damn boat whether were in 1st class or washing dishes to pay for the trip! By the way, If you smash your head hard enough you will (at least temporarily) not care about most of your other pains, but I find that each Dr. I've encountered STRONGLY opposes this practice! I just went and am still going through a severe flare and have felt like more than banging my head against a wall but Carole has handcuffed me to my computer, lol! I spent all day yesterday undergoing tests at the resort and I'm home because I told them I wasn't staying regardless. Mainly because yesterday was Carole and I's 49th wedding anniversary and I swore and be damned if I was going to spend it with them! I did take her out to dinner. Take care guys.
