Guest guest
Hello Kathy & Welcome to the family. I'm SuZie, 57year old female dx'd (diagnosed) in 1991 & a non resonder to tx(treatment) too. I also tried twice & was going for a third kick at the dragon when my docs said no. I'm in ESLD now. No fun but no arthritis yet other than what's normal for a person my age. SpYke & I live in the GWN(Great White North) Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. SpYke's my roomie, bff, pest control officer & Boss. Yes, he's a cat. Sir SpYke the Magnificent, Galactic Overlord in Training but he hasn't trained me yet. You can find member info - mini-bios, etc ( & pics of SpYke & others) at the Group site. There's lots of info there too if you're interested. Once again, welcome. I have gone through 2 rounds of interferon/ribavirin unsuccessfully. These days I seem to have become more symptomatic and wanted to reconnect with folks that understand. I'm a generally happy person but some days the dragon can get you down. My newest ailment is inflammatory arthritis. My doctor tells me this is common with HCV. Any one experiencing the same, what treatments are you doing? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Kathy Next time I'm coming back as a cat

Guest guest
Hi Bink's. Welcome to the Jungle. I don't think I have arthritis, my joints (knee's), hurt a good bit sometimes, though.. I think it might be lack of use, and dehydration.... ...My name is Del and I've been a member for 2+ years. I was dx'd about 2 1/2 years ago, with HEPC 2b and ESLD, and I can't do tx,or at least not yet! I'm about ready to ask to try it again.. but I get so friggin' weird when on it. I don't know what I'm doing, but different than the rest of the time.hahaha Someone will help you with hopefully some info that helps. This is a good place to be. Guest guest
Hi Gail... good morning, and peace and love to you.... I have a friend that states she has severe fibromyalgia, along with frequent seizures, sometimes hurting herself, a pacemaker, NOW possible staph, with sores on her body, and a " I'm not here anymore " air about her, sometimes. I think ,she does too, that she is hooked on the Oxycontin she's been taking for years. I do to, but because of the drug influencing her decision making process, she would rather be (no punches pulled here), zombie like, and totally messed up looking, than well. God forgive me for not agreeing with her doc, who keeps prescribing the oxy, but I think it's the oxy that convinced s her she's sick, Not bu heart problems, murmurs, but MAYBE! or the seizures..but MAYBE!! or the zombie like way she is. She still has her brain functioning, it just takes a while sometimes. Oh,, yeah, she said her doc told her she has HEP C and that's all i know. I can't help but feel as if she is protecting enablers and throwing people off track through typical addict, can't ever seem to talk to the main person type behavior. Thanks for reading. I'm open as to what I should do? No Ins. ans a boyfriend/fiancee that has convinced himself he's sick too. Thank you Deliman I will be gone in 30 minutes, I hope. I'm going to the dentista to have my last remaining 8 teeth removed, four surgically..( I think that means no string and slamming the door, door knob method.. BUT!!! He is an older fellow......... hahahah). I will let you know how everything came out!! They are hard on your liver. Every pill you take could that much more life out of your liver. Before my transplant , my doctor gave me a huge amount of morphine and dilaudids to help me go out painlessly. Well needless to say , If I had taken all those pills , I would'nt be here right now. I guess he figured I was a goner. I needed every last drop of life that I could get out of my liver to make it to the transplant. be careful !! Guest guest
Hi , I know what you mean - some docs seem to think the kindest thing they can do is help us to leave this earth peacefully & I know that some would prefer that but not those of us here! We're all dragon fighters in this group & we'll do whatever we have to to stay here. Like Deb says, every day I'm on this side of the dirt is a good one. I had a backache so bad a few months ago that I talked a friend into giving me some of his oxycontin. When I went to the doctor cause it was still terrible, I told him & he asked me if I was trying to kill myself! Pain killers are not liver friendly - not many drugs are. Always check with your specialist before you take any drug - prescription or OTC - & make sure all your docs know about your liver. One thing . We ask that you cut your messages down so people don't have to read through everything that came first before they get to your answer or question. Just cut all of it except the part you're replying to, k? We have many members who are on daily digest & it makes for a huge one if everything is included. Thanks, SuZie kelly_koger wrote: >binky girl ::: FROM K.... If your liver has problems , beware of pain medications ! They are hard on your liver.
