Guest guest
Based on urine you are eating about 2x more salt ( multiply urine Na x volume) this shoppe less than 1500/23 mM dayK should be >100 so OK THERE. than for good DASHER CUTTING Na in 1/2 will help nocturia a lot. The lower u go the less u go. Find out where the salt is coming from. And have Endo recheck in 1 month but only need timed urine and Na K and creat. No need ro do repeat CT unless meds/dash not working. I never repeat CT do to radiation cost and risk of kidney damage. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension Dear friends,Finally yesterday my new endo diagnosed me with PA. It is already 9 months since I with the help of Dr. Grim and all of you, diagnosed myself, helped myself to prescribe eplerenone, started Dashing and feel again alive :-).I am extremely grateful to Dr. Grim and all of you. I don't exaggerate when I say "It's a best school in my life!"The reason why my endo finally dared to diagnose me was my aldo = 22, that doesn't corresponds to any previous tests. It's much higher even I am on eplerenon and Dashing. Interesting things: all previous blood tests were taken in a Hospital, this one was done in Quest Lab. The endo suggested, that they in a Hospital don't know how to get aldo correctly, since it's a difficult test. Is it possible. It seems that this time in Quest Lab they have taken a correct aldo, but somehow have skipped renin, so I still don't know my correct ratio. Na level in my blood test is still lower that normal, I always have this problem and I don't know why.Dr. Grim, how do I Dashing according to my 24h urine test? The test was done in March and I am not sure that I need to ask to take it again. Also the endo suggested to repeat cat scan in an year to make sure that the edenoma doesn't grow. If it grows, he suggests laproscopy. I am not so sure, since I share Dr. Grim's point of view.I feel almost normal. My BP almost always 125/75 (never had such BP in my previous life:-). During my visit to the doctor it was 142/75.As you can see from my blood tests, my cholesterol and HA1C are much better, even though I completely dropped statins ans some diabetes medications and I eat more fruit. I exercise about 2 - 3 hours every day, don't have morning fatigue, and I am much more energetic after those 6 months. The symptoms that I still have:1. The main symptom is nocturia, about 5x - 6x. It appeared as the first symptom about 16 years ago. In my bad nights it was up to 15x, sometimes I could not fall asleep because of that.2. Sometimes I have a morning head ache in one point of my head.3. Once in three- four months I have some shadow of migraine. No pain, just lightening and stars in my eyes. 4. About once a month I have muscle cramps. Then I take an additional mug of low sodium V8 or one tablet of K supplement. Natalia Kamneva 67 Russian F with 1.5 cm left adrenal adenoma, 35 years long history of HTN and low renin , aldo? and high cortisol, K=3.4 before eplerenone and Dashing; diabetic; 50 mg eplerenone and Dashing work perfectly. <urine and blood tests.xlsx>
Guest guest
Many, many thanks, Dr. Grim. I will think about sodium and try to figure it out.My aldo is 22. They don't give reference range, so I don't know if it's very high, high or almost normal, considering that I take 50 mg eplerenone. What do you say? Guest guest
Sorry. I don't understand how to calculate it correctly.Sodium = 47 MMOL/L;Volume = 4230 ML = 4.230 L;Multiplication: 47MMOL/L * 4.230 L = 198.81 MMOL; How to transfer it to mg? Why do you delete 1500/23 mM? Guest guest
You mean that 198.81 MMOL *40 = 7920 mg Na I consume a day???!!!It's impossible. Something is wrong here. Then why the reference range for Sodium Random Urine in Quest Lab is "28 - 272"? Does it mean that 272 is still normal and it's equivalent to ~ 45,850 mg a day and it's normal? I am not on the left border of this range, but much closer to the left than to the right. And I am really very conscious about sodium consumption. And I am not working eating at the salt mine: -) Please, somebody, explain it to me!!!!! Francis, Max, Val !!!!!!!I will not sleep this night.
