Guest guest
I have been going to specialists and general dr. I don't know what immediate medical attention means. How much more immediate is taking about 2 scripts @ 3 & 4x's a day, iron, sembastatin, thyroid meds, vitimin B100 and A and A and D. and prescripbed vitimin D. What more do I need to be doing? All I know is I gained too much weight and that is pissing me off! I don't eat like a bottomless pit, so I know it must be water in me. Then when I read, it says it is dangerous to consume water. So frustrating. And I don't have all this time to stay in the dr's offices. I work at night ext. It is a drag. U think I need to take leave of abscene? Thanks You have significant renal disease. Guest guest
It would be great experience for me to learn whether such a low GFR is due to kidney damage, and whether such kidney damage is due to something like alcohol consumption or even alcohol consumptions of parents/grandparents....etc. Max. Guest guest
I could see if these results were twenty years ago then I'd say, yep. but I don't drink like I did when I was in my twenties. dr's have never mentioned that and wouldn't that be relevant in the battery of tests and liver damage etc? It is a hyperactive aldersterone disease, issue, with me that is. Or else everyone that went to college etc would have kidney damage. Sojourn. Guest guest
You are not looking at liver damage. You are looking at kidney damage. What scripts are you taking? Where is your blood pressure? Do you take it every day at home? Dr. Grim, could it be a result of uncontrolled HTN? Guest guest
Each of your labs lists normal bands for creatinine and other tests. I thought this last test was in February - 2/24/2011. No? It would be helpful if you'd go back and make a table listing date, creatinine, bun and GFR values, each with its normal band, for all the blood tests you've had over time. Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of Licia This was an older test . I was rushed to the hospital w/hbp 230/130 at the time. What should our creatine be? Sojourn You have significant renal disease. Guest guest
Yes it is. I have my Blood pressure under control and check my pressure reg. Guest guest
I can go back ten years. It's really exhausting, those test were recently taken btwn Feb - May of this yr. When I look back tho through to 2001, it was still about the same. So what could have prevented, that because my pressure was soo darn high, maybe I should have had the adrenalectomy then. Now my kidneys prob, wouldn't withstand the operation. Jack ass Dr's. Excuse my French. How is a women of 28/with drastic high blood pressure not a red flag for something else? I wish I could sew these incompetent, laxadazicle(spl) half ass racist!! Whooo, now I feel better. Sojourn You have significant renal disease. Guest guest
Race has nothing to do with it I am certain given the variety of people on here going throught the same thing. As for half ass and incompetent - THAT may be it! Most of us on here have been through the same thing and I assure you we sense your frustration with not getting the diagnosis. A few on here are from other countries outside the US (not me), some have national health care, some private insurance and many don't have any insurance at all. Some are doctors, PA-C's, nurses, and many a smart professional person who still couldn't get their colleagues or the "best" to listen to them and the diagnosis was slow coming and for some the damage was well on it's way. I think it's the disease and the unfamiliarity with it (but SHOULD be known by every medical provider) and not the person with it causing the issue in the delay of diagnosing PA. THIS is what we all have to help change so the next one doesn't go through what we have gone through. Your story is very similar to nearly everyone else on here so we again certainly can feel your frustration with going so long - but you can vent on us - they long timers (not me) have been taking it for a while . I think Dr G or someone wrote once on here the average seemed to be 5 or so years before someone put the symptoms with the actual diagnosis. Sad but too true. 43 yo 5'10" 170lbs male PA-C and EMT-P w/ PA responded ONLY to spiro and DASH after many years with HTN (have gone from 25mg q day to 12.5 q day on spiro). Average BP 160/120 (170/130 AVERAGE when TSH was also low!) for many years on 5 BP meds and now 130/80 on only 25mg/day spiro and DASH alone! You have significant renal disease. Guest guest
Unless you are having excellent BP control and kidney protection if you have proteinuria you may need dialysis in the next few years. Please listen to your Neph.Tell anyone who wants to do CTs etc with contrast about your kidney problem.Review all meds you are on and anything else you take to see if they may be causing kidney damage.By tracking back on you creatinine we may be able to see and event that got you into trouble that you want to be certain to avoid.CE Grim MDYour creatinine is too high and your GFR is too low. Guest guest
Again by plotting your creatinines we and you can get a better idea of where you are going and where you have been.CE Grim MDI have been going to specialists and general dr. I don't know what immediate medicalattention means. Guest guest
Then it is likely that lowering your BP may have elevated your Cr as often happens in severe HTN. It should get better however with the lower BP.Need more details of the time course and your Hx. Diabetes for example. This was an older test . I was rushed to the hospital w/hbp 230/130 at the time. Guest guest
Stress adds to HTN but is not the cause of it typically. All adult Americans seem to be beyond stressed right now but not all have HTN. you are on this list so you must have PA and that would be the cause - well we can say for us salt and our condition are the cause. I spent many years " stressed and depressed " in the opinion of many a doc, though i wasnt, with a 160/120 BP daily and i had PA all along : - ) >HBP does. And stress gives u HbP.
