Alot, not all, but alot of us are either diabetic or have thyroid issues. Me, I have both issues!!! d Pearson wrote: I have to admit that I continue to be amazed at everyone talking about gaining weight, rather than losing, because before, I would have bet one would lose from this. I have gained a lot of weight over the past 9 or 10 years, and while I do blame my habits for some of this, it is not as if I just sit around. I work full time, have adopted my granddaughter, that take a lot of energy and work,

plus I had been taking care of both elderly parents, only one now. Can someone shed some light on why? I can only figure that for me it is because while I would not exactly say I am nauseated to the point of throwing up, that never happens, my stomach does tend to be upset a lot and there are certain foods that just make it feel better.

I

have hypothyroid and am pre-diabetic, but have been able to work very hard and

lose 60 lbs in the last year or so. It’s tough to maintain. We are

constantly changing the dose on my Synthroid (thyroid med) ever since I started

tx. Everyone starting or on tx be aware that they need to check your thyroid

before and regularly during tx, especially if you’re already aware of a

thyroid problem. It’s manageable by changing your dose of thyroid meds

& not a problem with tx, but it definitely needs to be monitored because tx

can mess with it and cause other problems, then you think you’re having

freaky side effects, blah, blah, blah.
