Guest guest
Hi!I meant to welcome you yesterday! I believe you said you had back and wrist problems? I have back issues as well and right now I'm walking and doing gentle yoga - I hope to pick up the pace more next week. When my back is trouble free I'm fairly unlimited in what i can do - but when I make it angry, I have to take it easy. Trouble is, figuring out exactly what makes it angry! The best workouts for me are walking, biking, step, Sansone. I like kickboxing, but can't do it too often b/c it flares up my back. I also find that Pilates, "fusion" workouts (that blend Pilates, Yoga, T'ai Chi and Dance) are great. I love Classical Stretch also. And I'm thinking of experimenting with some "barre" work (ballet type exercises). A great source of info is videofitness.com and if you check out collagevideo.com you can see clips of workouts that you may be interested in. Totalfitnessdvd.com is also a great site for buying workouts and viewing clips. For shoes, I like New Balance, Nike and Avia. I have heard mixed things about the rocker-bottom shoes. Some like them, some don't. They are pricey! As for posting daily workouts, I htink that is up to you - some of us do and some of us don't. I do b/c I just like to keep consistent and knowing that I'll be posting helps keep me on track. What's worked and what hasn't? I have had some foot problems in the past, and I would like to avoid more.2 - Are we supposed to post our daily workouts? Like, yesterday I was invited to the HealthPlex -- a big facility here in Indy. We warmed up with a 1/2 mile power walk, then hit the weight machines. I concentrated on lats and triceps. We did about 10 minute of ab floor work, and another 1/4 mile to warm down a bit, 10 minutes on a stationary bike, and then a relaxing stretch and swim in the pool. I have a pass to this place all this week.I also have put some videos on hold at our library Body burn with dance and pilates - Austin30-minutes to fitness, body training - Coffey-MeyerFit party fat burning fun workout - Katina HunterTurbo jam - Chalene I figured that should keep me busy for a while.Indyrose
Guest guest
Yes, my back tells me loud and clear what it doesn't like. I did two jumping jacks last week, and the only reason I did the second was that I was already in the air when the pain from the first registered. Sharp pain right where the herniated disc is… No more bouncing for me! Low impact is fine, though. Luckily, that was a warning pain, and I heeded the warning! Wrist problems allows me to pull, but not push unless I keep the wrist extremely straight. So regular push ups are out, but I can use a bench press if my wrists are straight. I need to make this a way of life, since my mom has a whopping case of osteoporosis, and it runs in my family. Guest guest
> No more bouncing for me! Low impact is fine, though. i use a rebounder for anything that requires a bounce or jump... maybe you might benefit from one too. > I need to make this a way of life, since my mom has a whopping > case of osteoporosis, and it runs in my family. my mom has also been diagnosed (she is 83 years old)... ive had a bone scan to get a baseline. i walk alot (im on my feet from when i get out of bed until i go back to sleep at night) and i love to do flexibility and balance training, i but really need to fit in more weight training to help the bones (im 47, post menopausal). :*carolyn. Guest guest
Cola Pop I also use my Rebounder for impact and I consider it one of my most useful pieces of fitness equipment for that reason! I'm surprised they aren't more popular than they are!
