Guest guest Posted September 12, 2010 Report Share Posted September 12, 2010 I wanted to run today but my knee wants another day off from that so I hope to run during lunch tomorrow. Today I spent literall 2.5 hours chopping up vegetables for salads, snacks, and a soup I'm making that's in the crockpot. My thumb got a workout doing this! Today I did my first original FitPrime workout, Steamin' Cardio, which is #4 of 14 in the series. It is led by Kelsie s, who does a marvelous job of cueing! This one is really fun and full of creative moves! You basically alternate between floor cardio, a drill using the tall box, and a drill with light dumbells. The cardio portions were floor aerobics, kickboxing, and cardio salsa. The tall box parts were my favorite, and really different! The most unique move is when you sit on the end of your tall box/step, rock forward on to your hands and lift your feet off the ground. Kelsie calls them " handstands " - they aren't really, but they are the start of one. Then you do this fun plyometric move where you hover your butt over the tall box, leap up, hover, then sit back and roll, and eventually you combine this with the handstand. The tricep dips were even fun in this one - you do 3 of them, then jumping jack legs x2 on the 4th one. I got a little lost on the step portion using the tall box but got it eventually, it was a couple of stradles with plunges - I just did regular lunges instead. There are abs and a stretch at the end. Indeed I was sweaty, so it lives up to its title of Steamin' Cardio! I look forward to doing more FitPrimes/WHFN FitPrimes/Kickbutts in the near future!
