Guest guest
Potassium is controlled very carefully by the kidneys. It is important for the proper functioning of the nerves and muscles, particularly the heart. Any value outside the expected range, high or low, requires medical evaluation. This is especially important if you are taking a diuretic (water pill) or heart pill (Digitalis, Lanoxin, etc.). My blood test for Potassium is 6.0 H the range is 3.3 - 5.1 He retested me, does anyone know if you are taking diuretics will cause this and if so do I need to tell my transplant coordinator. This was taken by my MD so I will have a doctor close bye. I had my blood test on Monday with coordianator can it change that quickly? Vicki, Suzi or anyone who knows. This doctor does not do an INR.
