Guest guest Posted June 30, 2011 Report Share Posted June 30, 2011 Hi - I have used both Grolsch bottles and an old wine bottle with one of those rubber-valved replacemnet stoppers. I get better fizz from the replacement stopper. Probably because i am not afraid to let it sit unopend for a long period of time (before it goes in the fridge). The Grolsch stopper is firm and if I time it wrong, could explode. The valved stopper - sold in grocery and liquor stores, will just pop out if the pressure gets too high. Thanks for all your tips!
