Guest guest
www.bmr-calculator.netIs a good site, you can calculate your bmi, your bmr and use the Benedict equation to calcate your daily calorie needs. Highly recommend this site I love it and it's free! GL, Jacki Sent from a little place on the moon Hi Jacki, I looked online for BMR and they have dozens of different formulas...can you give me a link to a good one? Thanks, Jen My thoughts are, if starving yourself for a day doesn't make your weight go down, then one binge day isn't going to make it go up, either! I think it's more important to just keep an even diet MOST of the time, and those few variations won't hurt. (-- But every day binging is not variation....) Guest guest
I can't figure out that site, it looks like a bunch of ads.I found another site that does BMR and it said I need 1,500 (a little more) to maintain my weight. Why then when I'm exercising, do I get a gain when I eat 1,400 or 1,500 calories??? I'm burning calories at the same time... Doesn't make sense unless it's from starting CLX. Guest guest
Well, If I can get my butt up from here I'm going to do Burn it off and Ab Burner. I went for a 40 minute walk outside today. Guest guest
Sorry! www.bmr-calculator.net/bmr-calculatorI had never actually seen the homepage for that site I just assumed :)However if your bmr is 1500 then you would be subtracting normally 500 calories from that to lose weight however it is not good to go that low 1000 calories is not a lot to live off! If you do your bmr you should also use the Benedict equation which allows you to take into consideration your activity level since we all know that a sedentary person burns far less calories at rest than active people. So your daily calorie intake needs may actually be higher because you are active so for example I am highly active and my daily caloric needs after taking into consideration my activity level is 2100! I know it seems high but I subtract 500 from that and track my calories daily to stay between 1600-1800 and I am still able to lose on average 1lb a week (when my diet it good). So if you try the site again and figure it out you might see that maybe you are actually eating more than you need in order to lose. One possibility anyways.Another thing I have learned in the past is portion size. My portions used to be way too big but I thought they were normal. Protein should be the size of a deck of cards. If you have a food scale that is helpful I learned that from Chalene. You should measure everything when you are trying to lose weight because all the little extra uncounted calories add up. In one year I only lost 11lbs and I was doing P90X, tried Insanity and Chalean but I was sabotaging myself with my diet the whole time! My fat intake was way too high and my portions were overblown. After doing a lot of research I learned how to eat properly and track my food intake and now I can tell when the scale is going to move before I even get on it, it's like clockwork. It's not as easy to lose weight as some people think, in my mind anyways:) oh ya and water lots and lots of water. When my mom started drinking water that's when she started losing weight. Hope some of that is helpful to you. Good luck with CLX I love that program was thinking of doing the burn intervals again today. Keep up the great work! Let me know if you figure it out. Jacki I can't figure out that site, it looks like a bunch of ads.I found another site that does BMR and it said I need 1,500 (a little more) to maintain my weight. Guest guest
I just wanted to add that I had to use these things as a starting point because they're based on groups of people, but ultimately, I had to base my calorie goals and fitness goals on my own data. An individual might be different from the majority of those in that group. For instance, if I'm logging my food and exercise calorie totals, and logging my daily weight on spreadsheet, I can make correlations about my actions and make adjustments. My caloric needs have varied. Sometimes I gain weight on less food, and sometimes I can lose weight with more. It's funny the way the body adapts. Since Jen is already tracking these things with the Fitbit, it could provide her with the tools to fine tune her own program. Sorry! www.bmr-calculator.net/bmr-calculator I had never actually seen the homepage for that site I just assumed :)However if your bmr is 1500 then you would be subtracting normally 500 calories from that to lose weight however it is not good to go that low 1000 calories is not a lot to live off!
