Guest guest
Hi and welcome back! I remember you since I am from Iowa, but now live in Missouri. It sounds like some positive things are happening in your life. Good luck with your BFL challenge. Andy > > Hi everyone, > > I am new to this list, again. I have been on this list before and done body for life before but never stuck with it. I have since quit my job and started college, gaining around 20lbs in the process. Guest guest
Welcome ...you are going to find plenty of information and friendship here. I am sorry you are sick. A little background on me- I'm married to the greatest man on the planet, he has really been there for me since I became sick. We've been together for 10 years, the last almost 3 years of it with me being sick. We have 4 kids combined, my two are 19 and 25 and his two are 13 and 18. We see them as ours, not his and mine, I don't know why I wrote it that way, lol. We have 5 grandkids and at the moment ALL 5 ARE STAYING WITH US!!! My son has 3 kids and they are in between houses at the moment (long story there) and my daughter who is 19 has 2 kids and lives with us. Hubby and I are raising one of our granddaugters who will be 3 in a few days. She is developmentally delayed, special needs and the absolute joy in my heart. She is my pain pill for sure. I've never met a kinder soul in my life I worked as a medical assistant until I became really sick in 2006. It's been a long hard road with all kinds of misdiagnoses. I was finally told to see a rheumy in 2007 after my doc finally did some investigative bloodwork. Until then he told me I had chronic daily headache with fibromyalgia and I believed him because he was a doctor... I am no longer that naive. I have the best rheumy now and a great neuro too. So far I am diagnosed with RA, small fiber neuropathy, chronic pain syndrome, depression (duh, lol) and possible dermatomyositis. The possible Still's came into play because I told my rheumy of the rashes that I get when I get fevers. I had hubby take a pic of it and showed it to him just out of curiosity to see if he had any thoughts on this. I never connected it with my autoimmune issues, and was never asked about rashes like this. Rheumy took a look and said, " Still's " . I'm embarrassed to say I'd never heard of Still's disease. I should sign off now as I could probably blabber on foreverrrrr and I don't want to bore anyone to sleep. Unless you are dealing with some insomnia, let me know and i can keep on writing-LOL! I look forward to getting to know some great people Take care and be well, C.
Guest guest
Hey C. Welcome! As we all generally say, sorry for the reason you are here, but glad you found us....I have been battling The Dragon for four years....have been involved with this group for nearly as long...no need to be embarrassed because you had never heard of Stills....i had not either until my diagnosis...it is a very rare autoimmune disease....I too work (when possible) in the medical field as a Physical Therapist Assistant....my first wife was a medical assistant....most of the folks in the medical field have never heard of Stills (at least the ones i deal with)....you will find here a group of folks that are just the best on the planet...for me, they are closer than my own family....you will find compassion, understanding, acceptance and love....you can ask questions, vent, cry, laugh.....just be you....i hope you continue to stay with us....i am so happy you have a great support structure at home...that will make a tremendous difference as you continue to " Fight the Dragon " .........like Charlie s once wrote: " It's a long road and a little wheel; it takes alot of turns to get there....
