no secret just a blessing! as first time homebuyers we got a 7500 tax credit(we have to pay back yearly but so much better then the monthly payments). i gathered all the bills that were getting in the way and just started paying them off. on top of that and my regular refund we will pay everything and some of my regular bills like mortgage etc and had enough left over that i can redo my living room with new bookcases from target and dh's check will get a flat screen tv from a friend and open this living room more for workout space. dh also doesn't plan on quitting his second job,he is just cutting back hours unless he is needed more(security/cooking/barbacking he does it all LOL). so that kept us above water but still wasnt' fun to struggle when say i was out of work and had to use his 2nd job to cover regular bills. that would throw us off. now we can be smart

and use his main check for bills. my check for fun/savings and his other check for fun/savings. we make enough between that to save up for a rainy day but still enjoy fun things. i say i will give myself 40 a month to play with for videos or clothes. i am not TOO needy in that respect. but i do hear you on spending when there is that emotional void. i love that fact there is 3 goodwills nearby b/c i spend but not to much. but then when you do spend, even if its 20 bucks you tend to feel gulity which starts the cycle. i have depression anyway so you can imagine that made this whole thing crazy for me with bills and filling that void. just hang in there and try to resist the urge and do something else that makes you happy. we have to do therapy so much that it kept me from actually going out and shopping LOL. really 5 days a week between family therapy and viola's home therapy has taken up my time. by the time therapy is done its

dinner/homework/chores that it kept me busy. i don't know what you get back in refunds but try to spread it around to what you owe.the more you give them a month then less interest you paid upfront. it was the only way we were able to start stabilizing. and plz plz i advise to anyone, STAY AWAY FROM THOSE STORE CARDS like sears, best buy etc. the fine print has you paying fees and interest on the PURCHASES not just the balance you owe. that is why best buy was so hard to pay down and fees, interest, and charges were so HIGH!!never again! hugs to you its hard but this has been a blessing and i intend to do right with it but also enjoy it. kassia
