Guest guest
Don't know if you read my DAN! notes about seizures. But they said when they do some brain scans where the areas of the brain light up when they are activated that some people with autism have zero activity showing in the language areas of the brain but the visual area of the brain is strongly lit. Dr. Noble suggested parents strongly consider sign language. I don't think he realizes how difficult proprioception is in some of our kids, though. we tried sign language for over a year & Allie just couldn't do it. Do you feel like your visual area is stimulated through speaking or listening to language? It made me wonder if perhaps those with autism have nerve fibers that are routed to the vision area instead of the language area. Or maybe perhaps some damage happened to the brain where the nerves that innervate the vision take over for the language areas. It's just so fascinating to me.
