Guest guest
Sharon you are so right about kids . my mother and dad could not have any or so they thought . when dads sister died mom and dad took in there two nefs as no one other would . both had some mental retardation one more then the other. any hootbefore i became a dad I was my nefs best friend and when he was little being mom was single he kept asking me to be his dad LOL. now my own life I have a favorite Aunt and Uncle. I know were not suposed to do that but i do. any hoot if i could be adopted I would want to by them . My aunt always remembered b days and such. always made me feel special and to this day still dose. when ever I think of travailing some were I want to stop and see them as they also travel a lot. when she had cancer of the breast I cried then knowing she got the docs to release her early so that she could come and help take care of dad as he was dieing ( she is an RN and home hospice one also) showed even more how special she is and proud she is my aunt. I even would choose to this day to see or do something with them over some of my own brothers and sisters. my nef and I when we would talk of the camping trips and things we did even times he got in trouble by me and they were with fondness only . . So being an aunt is special big time ! how involved you are is a choice some thing that sets you apart same as a parent just because your biologically a parent dose not make you one that is by choose of the heart and in that aunts, uncles grandparents that make that choose receive great amounts of love and happiness from the kids and they never and I do mean never forget as my nef is now 36 and he and I were buds from his birth. he is the first dippers i changed first baby I did all that stuff with. so yup I got all the baby stuff, the parent stuff from him including love and happiness's for many years . the rednecks Marty & G. the redneck's my space http://www.myspace.com/martyg58 Stills ; An illness I know to well! Guest guest
Sorry Sharon to hear you are still not good. And by the way, I have some fabulous aunties whom I am very close to, so never underestimate how important you are to those little nephews & niece of yours! I love your positive outlook on life, keep it up. Here is a poem from my niece which I think you deserve too, on behalf of your niece & nephews! : " God gave us dads & mothers, Brothers & sisters too, and to make the family love complete, he gave us aunts like you. You are the very dearest aunt, you've added to my days, a wealth of treasured memories of your warm and loving ways! " Hope you are feeling better soon and having more good days than bad.
