Guest guest
, I am the EXACT opposite! I LOVE the hot, humid weather as this is the best I'm going to feel all year long. The only downside for me to hot weather are sudden storms, as if I get caught in one I'm screwed! I'll wind up on the ground shaking like I'm having a seizure..at which point I will be damn near totally incapacitated for up to 3 days. Even for how horribly I've been feeling for the last 3-4 months, today I was able to spend 5 hours @ the football camp where I coach. Aside from being damn near totally exhausted I was able to make it through, and teach a lot of kids various things. I'm looking forward to being there again tomorrow, but I will admit I'm glad it is over afterwards as I have been in my bed since 3:30 this afternoon only getting out once or twice to check my email and eat. Sorry you're going through this, but Enbrel usually takes several weeks for you to really notice a difference. Just make sure you pay attention to any " oddball " symptoms such as slurred speech, balance problems (unless you already have them) and other " weird " stuff.... You probably won't, most won't... but it happened to me and they were damn near convinced I had MS! I'm NOT knocking Enbrel! I just want to warn you for things to look out for that MAY indicate a problem. Hopefully and with any luck it will be your solution to feeling " normal " again! Adios, Kirk. PS...I want to move to Tx or Ga or even southern Tn while you can probably find cheap property in Canada! LOL...... I hate cold weather! I start to feel it by mid-October and don't come out of that " funk " until mid-May (only if it is hot and it certainly wasn't this year!) and feel as good as I'm going to throughout the summer! Over 90?? YES!!!!! Talk about opposites! Kirk. 2008/6/7 Fultz : > > > -- Everything in life sucks except things that should!
Guest guest
Ann, I do believe it's different for everyone. I read some time ago that barometric pressure did play a part in arthritis pain because of the pressure on the body and have found that for myself the dry cold is much easier than anything wet and damp on my joints but it does not or has ever affected my overall disease course or flares. That, my body has always taken care of on it's own. So as with Still's I think it is a very personalised experience and you may get as many answers as people asked. Best regards and stay cool in the desert if you can, lol. Weather causing pain? Well NY was hit with a freaking heat wave high 90's and soooooo humid. I have had the worst pain ever in my joints I mean EVER my hands are swallon and I feel like I can hardly move them. Is this what happens with Hot humid weather with Stills? I do have to say out of 4 states I have lived in it is 3 I would never again and one I would think about because of the extreme cold ( North Dakota) out of the states were I have visited and ether know people there of have family I would move to with out a thought. I know there are better states with dry and I do mean real dry weather then calif. Kirk by the way not from LA south but from about 200 miles north of that and then do as you said give it away but also add one county from the North make that two San Fran and Sacramento then you could make a good state LOL. go ahead flam me I live here I can say it and I live in part that should be given away ;-) the rednecks Marty & G. Guest guest
do you like cold and fog? that's winter here . humid some times not like back east but we do get it now and then I know it hurts me to. for dry I would think New Mexico or Arizona first besides that dam the cost to live here is nuts take the San fran area they say it takes over 75,000 or more a year for a family of four just to make ends met not any extra and that is renting . a one bedroom apartment can run you over 1,500 a month and that is not in the best towns or areas. here in crime city, drug infested, free murder land , gang central, and such Fresno it is over 800 for a one bed room apartment. this is why we live were we do and will not move tell it is out of state as a 4 bed 2 bath is still only 650 and has never gone up in over 6 years and they have told us as long as we are here it will not . being we have 5 adults and one baby here and live on ssdi it is the best deal in town. okay out of town being were almost 30 miles from town school and shopping out in the middle of an orchard. were it is almost always humid because of the irrigation they do every day. And now with gas running about 4.50 gl a bit less some and more in others it kills us to do any thing heck even our mail box is over 3 miles away at the post office because they do not deliver mail out here .United parcel and Fed x can not find us 9 out of ten times even with directions here and only two turns off the main hwy. okay on of them is even off the black top for over a mile LOL. see I am really are a redneck who lives in the sticks with no other hicks around . Kirk come here by the way we can give ya 110 plus weather for a normal high. I have seen it many times get to over 116 in the shade what little there is . every cook an egg on your car hood or the side walk ya can here believe me I did it just to see. so if ya wants hot we cans give it to ya's the rednecks Marty & G. Guest guest
Hi . I live in Las Vegas and can tell you that weather absolutely has an affect on my joints and pain. Since we have low to zero humidity but high heat all the tim I can tell you that my joint pain stays at almost consistent levels. My body reacts well to the dry heat of the desert. It's when there is a change in the weather that I run into problems. Accuweather dot com has an arthritis index on it and it's pretty accurate. If I am having a pain day I'll check the accuweather website and their index is in pretty close in relation to the amount of pain I am in. These changes in the weather cause my joint pain to increase. I poached this from Accuweather: 1. Changes in atmospheric pressure, especially falling pressure 2. Changes in temperature, especially lowering temperature 3. High or increasing relative or absolute humidity 4. Relatively low atmospheric pressure 5. Low temperatures 6. Precipitation Chris > > ok friends I need some answers. I took my first Enbrel shot on Tuesday. I was exhausted for 3 days after ( think it must be my body getting use to the drug) and very weak but thought maybe I was feeling better in my hips by Thursday maybe? Well NY was hit with a freaking heat wave high 90's and soooooo humid. I have had the worst pain ever in my joints I mean EVER my hands are swallon and I feel like I can hardly move them. I have taken lots of Asprin today but to no help just tears up my belly. Is this what happens with Hot humid weather with Stills? OMG I can hardly type it hurts so bad I have no rings on any more they are way gone. I lost my cain and have been limping all day. Ugh! So please just tell me that you all go through this with very humid hot weather? I dont want to go back on pred I want to deal with it till I cant. Good news is I slept good last few nights that is so great! Maybe due to the Enbrel. > Please let me know this is what to exspect in humid weather please, so I can brace myself when I see the weather channel say hot and Humid.Lord help us! > Thanks friends > > Ann Fultz
Guest guest
Ann, I hate to tell you, but I swell up during the humid months - which is most months here in Houston. It is better now that I am on a better drug treatment but I still swell up. :-( Houston, Texas
