Alison I say you sleep somewhere else while saying 2 thing.... First, I

love you and...... this too shall pass...you ribs will heal but until they

do

that pain is nasty!!!!!. Be care of any colds as coughing will make it

worse.

Wash your hands big time...and moisturize them so no little bugs decide to

stay....

Hugs from 2 feet away so it won't hurt you my friend...

Love

Liz

I am so sorry you are in soooo much pain! =(

For bruised or even broken ribs they really don't do any wrapping anymore...you

don't want the pneumonia..

that would be salt on the wound...hang in there..I know it is easy for me to

say..I am not hurting like that right this second...but if it helps, I will tell

you that the methotrexate that I am on is making my hair so thin that I probably

have thicker hair on my arms than my head!.  =)   and she UPPED my dose to

15mg. a week instead of 10mg.   go figure..

Diane

Well, God played one of his gravitational shift games on me in the middle of

the night on Thursday night (Friday Morning) and I fell in between our

wooden bed frame that goes around our whole bed and our mattress. I yelled

so loud I've never seen my poor husband move so fast. We spent the next

four hours icing it and trying to decide if we needed to get to the resort

for Xray or not. I didn't want to because I already had a fever and felt

crappy, but man, did that hurt. We decided to wait and see if my GP would

fit me in. She did, and Thank God, it was just bruised.... Come to find out

that it will take about 6 weeks to heal and that if I don't breathe deep at

least once every hour I'll get pneumonia.

When she looked at it, I asked if we really had to do x-rays, because I get

so many - now she is normally very quiet.. She burst out laughing at me for

the question... She said " you have got to be kidding me... Look at it.. It's

been less than 12 hours and it's already 10 different colors and your asking

if we have to do x-rays or not? I guess that's a typical stills patient -

huh? She said she thought that about three ribs are bruised right on my

chest -- right where I need to where a bra - (Sorry guys)... I wanted her

to wrap it. She wanted to, but they don't anymore, not for bruised or

broken - causes pneumonia and bronchitis.. Figures.... Just my luck...

Know I'm up two nights in a row... Every time either I move or my husband

moves I wake up.. This is ridiculous ---- How do we stay positive when we

have gravitational shifts like this... I get them all the time.. This is the

first time that I actually fell and seriously hurt myself. Oh well, another

day, another lesson in how to be patient in stills-land.

Rand, My husband, wants me to stay in bed with him, but it hurts so much to

be there - one slight move and I'm wide awake... I understand that he wants

me with him, I really do - I keep trying to go in with him, but it;s not

working - it makes me feel so guilty because he does so much for me. I wish

I could do more for him.

I am Sorry Diane.. I hate MTX.. I have hair fall out too, but luckily, it's

not too thin yet.

I don't know why they have to up the dose when you are telling them that you

are losing your hair.

You would think that they would try some other med when they know you have a

problem...

Oh well.. Mtx must be the best med for you right now...

Hang in there.

You poor thing - the worst part is how often you need to twist daily. I'm

trying to picture your fall - boy you must be a little one, no way I'd even fit

between my frame and my mattress. I guess that's one good thing about being

chubby!

Feel better soon! And don't forget that breathing thing, did you ever

imagine that just breathing would be challenging?

Don't you just love it ??? I've been where you are as I have had

bouts of " unexplained " loss of balance 2 years back...fell out of my truck,

fell donw my stairs... and other fun things. The worst I had to deal with

was a severely bruised ankle.....top it off with I already was using a

walker....FUN!

I hope you feel better. Kirk.

Love it for sure.... At about 10 PM last night I ended up begging my husband

to take me to the ER. I was in so much pain, worse than Friday. And my

temp was climbing, up to 103 - just plain miserable. All I could think was

that the xrays had to be wrong or that I had totally set myself into a flare

of stills (as if I wasn't already in one) by the fall...

Thanks for the prayers all...

So Kirk... How Did you manage to fall out of your truck????? Everyone wants

to know how I managed to fall onto my side right into the frame of our bed,,

one word... Stills....

Take care everyone...

Not too little, but thanks to Stills, I've lost over 60 lbs this year... Now

my challenge is to not lose any more weight...

It's crazy... I never would have imagined that it would be challenging to

breath deep or to sit up to print a few checks for bills..

The funny thing was what the doc said at the resort last night, his quote

it's just an endurance test for you " .. I just want to know what the last

seven years were... If he's saying that for the next couple of months...

Happy Holiday's

* HMMM...hard one to answer.....my truck isn't " lifted " per say, but I

have 32 " tires on it and many extra " leafs " to add to the towing/hauling

capabilities of the beast, and the rocker panels (the bottom part you see

when you open the door/use to step on to get in a truck) are roughly 30 " off

of the ground. It makes it a REAL truck, no fancy stuff except for the cd

player, amps & speakers (so I never, ever have to hear ANY rap!!!) and a

plow. I have a hard time getting in & out of it anymore, and once I was

getting out & my foot missed the rocker....sending me flying to the ground.

Everyone who lives within earshot of me had to hear me, as I was " flipping

out " and spraying some of my most treasured words around quite generously.*

* The next day my left leg, hip and shoulder were back & blue....and hurt

almost as bad as they looked. Thank GOD this was before most of my horrible

body pains had started or I would've been in deep shit. It took about 10

days before I was able to lay down and move with no pain relating to the

fall. *

* Hell, I've also fallen down my steps to my basement and had to have

railings installed so I could use my hands to get up & down the stairs. *

* The stairs one sent my to the resort, but I was already a total mess by

the time I fell.*

* Later, Kirk*
