Last week and tomorrow's rainy 50k

Hi all,Last week was pretty good. I'm having a little trouble today because my SI joint flared up. I think it was because of yesterday's wide leg squats. I had increased my weights and was using two 25 lb kettlebells at my sides, but those work better for narrow leg squats. It was too awkward this way. I should have held them like a front squat.  A barbell on the shoulders might have been the best choice.

Anyway, I am hoping the inflammation goes down before tomorrow. I did yoga this morning, but that just caused a spasm, so I backed off. It's inflamed, not just tight. Ibuprophen is kicking in.

I'm doing a 50k ride tomorrow, but it's going to rain all day long. They're predicting 100% chance of rain in Lodi California. I'm no mathematician, but that seems like a sure thing to me. :)  I'm grateful that it's a flat ride, or the SI joint issue would make me bail out. You use your low back more on climbs.

This is the ride I'm doing, and if the wind and rain is bad, and the SI joint is still bad, wine tasting might be in order:

I hadn't planned on doing any wine tasting, but if the ride carries me into a pain cave, I might reconsider.

Happy Workouts!
