Many with PA find that BP is better during pregnancy as progesterone is an aldo antagonist. The PA was not brought on by the IVs.If you read my article you will see why most of your meds did not work. Can you give us a list of them and any side effects you had.Best to put it into your story.CE Grim MDI had thyroidectomy in 2005 for Graves, no other health problems. In 2007 BP went up during delivery of baby no. 5 and would not come down. It was 180/120 at that time. I tried 9 different BP meds in various combinations, the only thing that brought the BP down was Spiro. I had CTs and MRIs of brain, adrenals, kidneys and was diagnosed w/ PA in late 2007 by endo. Since then my does was as high as 200 mg/day but I've been off the Spiro since last May, using DASH and exercise. BP in the last year has been 124/78 - 150/90. My doc thinks what brought the PA out was the IVs of sodium during the delivery. During my previous deliveries, I had no pain meds, but that one I wanted the epidural and with that comes an IV. By the end of that day I was so swollen from all the IV fluids it was scary. I've never had high BP during pregnancy and so far so good.I guess I'm wondering if I'm on a low Na diet, is that why the Na is low on the blood work? And, what does a low anion gap indicate?> > >> > > Was renin 2.0 or 0.2?> > > > > > Val> > > > > > From: hyperaldosteronism > > > [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of mmcandmcc> > > Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2011 9:48 AM> > > To: hyperaldosteronism > > > Subject: pregnant and lab values> > > > > > > > > I am 7 weeks pregnant w/ baby number six. Just adding my 2 cents in the pregnancy department. I was diagnosed with HTN at my six week checkup after baby #3. With my first two I had no pain meds during delivery, but with the third I was induced 10 days late and got an epidural. With #4 and #5 I had nod pain meds during delivery, but bp was high at 6 week checkup, but not high at home after 4 and after lots of juicing and abhorrance of salt got bp down after #5.40 yo WF, 5 kids, PA diagnosed in 2207 when #4 was 8 months oldTo: hyperaldosteronism Sent: Wed, May 18, 2011 4:27:53 PMSubject: Re: pregnant and lab values
