Step Xtra Mix 9

After 2 days of not exercising I was going crazy and believe me, I have toxins to sweat out.  I chose a tape I picked up at one of 24 Hour Fitnesses early Xpeditions, where instructors would go to learn 24H formats at a low cost and get credits to go toward maintaining our primary certification.  There wer so much fun, and even people from Bally's would come to get the credits and learn new material too (they just had to pay more than we did as 24H ee's is all)

The tape was cheap, like 5 bux.  They wanted you to have these so that you would learn more formats and possibly teach them. Step Xtra is a format that is EXACTLY at my level!  There were lots of options and layers to add in and I often stuck with the basic option to help save my knee (i.e. less turning) I was able to follow along yet still be sufficiently challenged so I was never bored.  There are 3 combo blocks that have 2 combos that you wind up stringing together.  After each block is a simple energy sprint. 

The step portion was 45 minutes long, I worked up a good sweat, and I feel good!  I wish I had more of these, the music is good and I believe it was Portia who taught this one and she did an excellent job, mirrors, flawless cueing.  The bpm were on the slower side which is good for me otherwise I trip over my feet.

Now I am off to doing that horribly boring back care yoga dvd by Peggy Cappy.   It's the most boring workout I own, however, my back feels very good upon completion so it's worth it.
