Guest guest
I signed him up sometime in Q1 or Q2 of 2001. I updated my info sometime in 2003 or 2004. I happened to call the other day and they had just mailed out the info to my old address. <whew> Had they not received response, we would have been out of luck for a long time. Sorry - short answer - 6 years. s.barker01@... wrote: How long was your son on the list before his name came up? Re: CLASS # up Tarrant County. Guest guest
Do you remember when you signed up? I keep thinking ours will be up soon. We signed up in April of 1999. Re: CLASS # up Tarrant County.

Guest guest
Well, you were one of the " lucky " ones--only waiting 6 years:) It took 8-9 years for my boys' names to come up on the list! a Re: CLASS # up Tarrant County. Guest guest
nope! don't go being mad yet. i don't know how exactly tarrant came into the email chain but we've never lived there. i signed him up while in county. but i don't think that should make a difference. should it? i mean, next in line is next in line. just call the office in the morning. they may have tried to reach you but if you've moved and not updated or if the info you gave them got mis entered, mis read, mis written... that could be the problem. Guest guest
Oh man that is a long time. My son will be about 13 when we get help, if he still needs it then. I know at our last ARC meeting they said they are working on shorting the wait time. They said it used to be about a 9 to 10 year wait. They also said that each year the wait time is to go down. I don't know by how much . I still think that is a long time to wait. Am sure you're glad his number finally came up after that long of wait.. Re: CLASS # up Tarrant County. Guest guest
Are you saying the list is based on the County you live in? What about the wait in Collin? Hummmm...maybe it would be better to use a friends address somewhere in a county that had a shorter list? Also are you limited to which county you can seek services in or can you choose services anywhere? If I recall correctly, Denton County's #'s were lower and my son did not go to the bottom, but somewhere in the middle. That makes our wait 6 years.
