Hi all, I have not fallen off the planet but I have been sick. I have some sort of bad allergies or cold or something going on that I just can't seem to shake. My whole family seems to be coming down with it. I haven't worked out for 4 days due to being sick which doesn't make me happy at all so today I decided to try to do something. I pulled out the new Huckabee Powerfit Harmony's that I just bought. I did disk 1- Cardio Move it and Disk 2-Sculpt, Strong Push. These are only 20 minutes long each and were quite easy, but they were good for me today for the crappy way I feel to at least get something in. I actually really like these. I probably won't use them for everyday, but for days I am very pressed for time or trying to talk myself out of working out altogether, these will be great. Guest guest Posted October 17, 2010 Report Share Posted October 17, 2010 Excellent work !!! This workout got some good reviews when it was new. Not sure how many still use it regularly, but it's a nice solid workout. D  Today I did a new one that I purchased off the yayas board (I really do need to stay off of there). It is called Cardio Combat Surge with Spreen. I really did enjoy this one. I did mostly all of it, I only did about half of the fusion stretch at the end though because I didn't really like it and because my body just doesn't really bend like that. I used a 6 pound medicine ball and a 10 pound body bar for this workout. I didn't do the tricep pushups on the ball either cuz the ball kept rolling and I was afraid to fall on my face. This was a very long workout but it didn't seem to take very long while it was going on. I did about 80 minutes altogether. It was way too long for me to do in the mornings before work, but it was good for a weekend like today. It does have some shorter premixes that I can do in the mornings though. I am still having some DOMS in my triceps and abs from Jari yesterday, that hasn't happened to me before with Jari, but that was my first time doing the weight portion of that particular Body Rock workout, last time I just did the cardio maybe it was different from the other Jari's. I am finally here alone in my house to have some peace and quiet time so I am off to shower and watch some TV and do some laundry in peace while it lasts. Have a great Sunday everyone.  in CA Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest guest Posted October 31, 2010 Report Share Posted October 31, 2010 That's a bummer! Today I decided to try out one that I have had forever, even before I joined all my fitness groups. It was Squeeze by Effinger. I was a little hesitant on trying it because I thought I wouldn't like it, turns out I was right. I hated it. I did the parts that I could do, but I didn't enjoy most of it. On the seated stretches portion I really couldn't do any of them, my body is very unflexible. On the L portion for the legs, this one seemed to be just like a portion from Kathy Body Basics so I was already familiar with these, they were okay. Most of the ab work, and several other things I couldn't do either. I went ahead and tried the whole thing, 60 minutes worth, but I really just don't like it. I did like the arms and triceps and leg portions, but on the section where it says you can customize your workout, you really can't. I like it when you can check the boxes for the parts you want to play and it plays it straight through, this one doesn't do that, you can select a portion, then it plays that portion, then you have to go back and select another portion, etc. I feel like I wasted an hour today when I could have been doing something else. I had another VHS tape called Tae Bo 8 power rounds, this one is only about 20 minutes altogether, it is about a 12 minute stretch with 8 one minute power rounds. It is supposed to give you energy when you need a quickie little workout. It was okay for a very short workout. With both of them together it was a fairly good workout. I am off now to do laundry and dishes. I may throw something in the crockpot for dinner. The day before yesterday we were still 91 degrees here, today it is much cooler and windy and is supposed to rain today. I already got all of my running around done this morning. When I've done it, I just follow along in the book. I also have her newer version on Bottoms Up on DVD but I haven't used them yet. Some day I will have to do a rotation with her workouts. They are good but sometimes she gets on my nerves...I guess that's why I use her book! I also have 5 of her audio cassettes from years ago! In this one she does a thing where she lays flat on her stomach with legs extended and puts a dumbbell between her feet and does leg lifts. She has done this is in several of her videos, but one time I almost hurt myself when the weight went flying on to my back so now I just use ankle weights instead. When she does it she just uses light weights like 3 pounds, but I wanted to feel it and so I used a heavier one and it was to awkward trying to pick it up with my feet, that's when it went flying. It was much better with the ankle weights. The only problem is that I have very skinny chicken legs and the weights dont stay at my ankle no matter how tight I put them, they go up and down on my leg, but still much better. I have been such a slacker on this long weekend that I took, I had planned to do so many workouts, but it just hasn't happened. I may try to sneak in a bonus one later today, we'll see what happens. Today I was really lazy and slept until 10:00 Am, must be the effects of the Nyquil. I just finished up my workout at 5:00 PM, a few minutes ago. Today I did Tae Bo Cardio Circuit 2. I am off now to watch a netflix move that I got so I can send it back tomorrow. I also have to figure out what I want for dinner as I am starving. Probably a veggie burger but who knows. Tomorrow is back to work again, I need to go figure out what workout I am going to do tomorrow morning, probably a Joyce Vedral.
