Guest guest
Hi We did Son-Rise with my grandson for 5 years until he was 8 years old and ready for school. And he still goes in his playroom after school on some days. We found Son-Rise great for potty training initially, helped with speech, interaction, eye contact and imagination. Charlie settled into school immediately and is very happy there. It is a special needs school for children with learning difficulties. His parents did not think he would be able to cope in a normal school. The school haved commemted on his 'reading with expression' and his ability to follow a story without pictures, which most of the others in his class cant do. We also found Son-Rise made a great difference to the whole family as well. I must also say that they spent money taking him to America and attended another course themselves but in hind site I wish they had spent this money on biomedical treatment sooner. They have also done AIT twice, cranial osteopathy, homeopathy and testing for allergies. Had we heard about biomed. earlier I think he would be almost recovered now although he is well on the way. PS: I think the Caudwell Charity funds the Son-Rise start up. I am seriously considering doing the 5 day training course that they are putting on in London (we live in London so easy for us) in January and need to sign up in the next few days to get their early bird discount. > THe course is a lot of money, but I was so impressed by the thinking behind Son-Rise and how much of an improvement it might bring to my son, that it seems a good investment. > What worries me though is that as far as I am aware, no one on this forum talks about/ seems to use Son-Rise techniques. Why is that? Have people tried it and found that it is not useful? > Annika > > -- > > _____________________________________________________________ > > ANNIKA & ROWLAND FLOWER > Flat 6, 78 Lexham Gardens, Kensington, London W8 5JB > home: 020 7460 8280 > R: mobile: 07740 927 064  email: rowland.flower@... > A: mobile: 0 email: annika.j.flower@... >
Guest guest
I think lots of people do it, Annika. I think it's a good programme. However I urge you to have a look at Intensive Interaction too which has some similarities but is British and cheaper. Son-Rise has things to offer that I.I. doesn't and vice versa but I much prefer I.I. Other will prefer SR. I just wanted to make you aware that there was a choice. If you want more info about I.I. please contact me off list. Sara x
Guest guest
I must look into it - you have reminded me- it may help me with my feelings of depression about H and wanting to give up. I tried to get referred to the Tavistock Clinic in Swiss Cottagebut no go so far. (They have someone there trained in RDI as well as other approaches.) Guest guest
hi annika we did sonrise for 3 years, and still use lots today. it was absolutely FANTASTIC for my son and for me and my other three children. its a great starting point. and will give you a solid foundation to introduce other interventions and tailor-make your own programme. the most obvious thing to me is how positive and happy the mums are who follow sonrise programs and embrace the whole attitudinal side of sonrise. i would highly recommend it. caudwell funded me and my team of therapists to do the training. life changing! karenza xxx > > > > > > From: Annika Flower <annika.j.flower@> > > Subject: Son-Rise > > To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe > > Date: Tuesday, 9 November, 2010, 13:40 > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > Dear All > > Both my husband and I went to the Son-Rise lecture back in September and we thought it was brilliant.
