Guest guest
Hi , I'd appreciate the CAST supply bag. I was surprised that the nurse didn't know about the "tape", nor how to take care of the cast. Well I'm glad we have ISOP to help us out. Please let me know what I need to do to receive the supply bag. Much Thanks, mom to Larissa (4 years) To: infantile_scoliosis From: heather@...Date: Wed, 30 Apr 2008 09:25:37 -0600Subject: RE: Just casted Congratulations, ! ISOP provides a CAST Supply Bag (free) + postage, if you need one. Please go to the home page of www.infantilescoliosis.org to see what’s included. My daughter Olivia had her last cast applied by Dr.’s Mehta & D’Astous back in May 05 (age 6), so it has been a while……..But, I do remember the challenges. The CAST Supply Bags provide decorating materials that waterproof the outside of the cast/jacket. I found that decorating the jacket also helped my fingertips ~AND~ gave strangers something positive to comment on, besides their utter shock of seeing an infant/child in a little torso cast. Oh, I just noticed that Larissa is 4 yrs old! She may also enjoy decorating her own cast with her own cotton material that she could pick out at the fabric store. If you need one e-mail me privately at heatherinfantilescoliosis (DOT) org. I believe duct tape and waterproof tape work great. The CAST Supply Bag will have some moleskin petals… HRH -----Original Message-----From: infantile_scoliosis [mailto:infantile_scoliosis ] On Behalf Of vanessa vegaSent: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 11:23 PMTo: infantile_scoliosis Subject: Just casted Hi Everyone, Well our journey has just begun. My daughter was casted today (4-29-08) by Dr. Kishan at Loma (California). She did GREAT! She's now at 10-12 degrees (from 34 degrees). I do have a question for the experienced moms. When it comes to taping, are we suppose to tape the entire cast? and is "electrical tape" the same as "insulation tape?" and can we use regular duct tape? Thank you, , mom to Larissa (4 years old). Guest guest
Hi - I think Ethelyn said that she was provided some of the tape, but I was suprised. The nurses at Loma are simply post-op/general, and not really educated regarding these casts (yet). - > > > Hi , > I'd appreciate the CAST supply bag.
