Guest guest
Thanks Zahra, meant to say he has had another awesome Monday at school today, he used to have an issue with end of round grumps when we first started but don;t seem to be having them this time which is even better Mx Amazing news, Mandi. I'm so happy for you, Sam and the boys . ZahraSent from my iPhone Well an everything update really. As many of you know we have had major issues with aggressive behaviour since Sam hit puberty big time. He is a high Lead kid with 100+ rounds of AC done with good effect, mostly cognitive improvements. Stopped DMSA/ALA (50mg ALA, 25mg DMSA) when DH left as I could not handle night dosing and everything else going on, business and 3 teen boys. Kept up by doing occasional rounds of TD DMPS that he also did well on but given his size was this very expensive after pound exchange rate dived as purchasing in Euro's. End of August we started DMSA/ALA rounds again, hypothesising that as he was growing VERY quickly that Lead (stored in bones) was being released and may be contributing to aggressive behaviours. Started back up at 12.5/12.5 which was probably a little high but he didn't;t seem phased, very little in the way of yeast - easily dealt with using probiotics, Kirkman Sacc B and CP1. Been looking for patterns in behaviour and now I am very sure that chelation is helping. Grumpy and lairy on returning from school on Friday and a pussycat cutey 2 hours post the first dose His behaviour had been much better at school but had still been aggressive with me.Chelation is no longer an option, its a necessity so have been doing rounds every weekend, Friday afternoon - Monday morning. We are up to 25mg/25mg and I'm finding it easier to handle as I get back into the swing of it, First weekend was a complete killer, waaay out of practise and anxious about forgetting a dose and working it around him going out with DP carer. He goes to Youth Club on Friday night 7-9pm, so that works for 4.00pm, 7,00pm, 10pm etc I got everything ready, Jack DP carer knows we have to dose before we go out. So excited I was at telling him about Sam being cute as dose kicked in .................so óff they went and was tidying up supps when they had gone and realised too much chatting and not given the dose - arghhhhhhhhh, so had to drive smartish all the way to YC, no Jack or Sam, panicking them, where has this young man been taking my son all these Friday nights??? Just about to lose the plot when they turned up so got dose in only 20 mins late - phew - they had just stopped for petrol. This is the third weekend Jack has reported Sam 'talking' in the car, last week, 3 blind mice, clear as day, this week two lots of 'round and round' heard by both my Tom (DP assistant when going swimming with slides) and Jack. Jack said after he was making sounds with right timing but not so clear. We have had odd occasions when a word dropped out but Sam seemed very scared by it, explained to me before that words can come from two places, I think the clear ones just fall out and the less clear ones are him actually making them come out himself. Very vocal this past weekend, can tell voice has broken now. I'm very excited. Behaviour improvements I am sure are chelation, the words could be TST or KIB or all of it related, who the hell cares, not me, I plan to keep going with all of it, we WILL HAVE WORDS! He is 14 in January and I've waited long enough and worked hard enough, it will happen. He has also make leaps academically already this term, 4 P grades in maths and a few in English but I forget what that was now. I think a combination of fast growth releasing Lead at same time as quickly increasing need for oxygen may be behind behaviour issues in many teens, positive we are on the right track with chelation and TST. Oh nearly forgot, he is now eating proper hot food for dinner including VEGETABLES and SALAD!!!, something we've not seen since before GFCF So all want for Christmas is MUM, at me, for me, on purpose, he does says it already but as part of babble, I'll be able to tell the difference Mandi x 140 rounds and counting........... Sam nearly 14 Dx 47XYY, Regressive autism, possible Seizure Disorder, Severe Cute-ness +

Guest guest
I never thought I would see it, he is eating more green stuff than Joe now. I have only been giving one veg at a time, keen not to push my luck but today at school he had peas and carrots with his fish and potatoes and woofed it all down, I am sorta still in shock about it all. Adult portions too, after starting with just 10 peas. Today was first day for cooked carrots with fork, been raw before with fingers Mandi x The eating veg and salad is a huge thing....it's something i want for my Sam and will keel over the day it happens!! Guest guest
Mandi, i am loving it, seriously that is great news, i have some wonderful stuff going on here too, as you now i have been doing AC chelation since April this year, weekend rounds but odd weekends i have had off if i have been out or just need a break and TST since July. Well this weekend, my daughter was in her bedroom (which is downstairs next to the lounge) Harry (my DS) absolutely loves her boyfriend Sam (who we call ). So anyway here is my son (who has a few words but only uses them when he really wants something or with prompting) knocking my daughters bedroom door saying "Sambol, let me in", i was crying with laughter, hilarious and joyous all at once (plus functional and unprompted) BIG WOW for us! Also Harry has been taking his pull up off at night, as you know he has been toilet trained in the daytime for nearly 3 years, so i have taken the plunge and in 2 weeks he has only had 2 wet nights but they were just dribbles in the bed not really wet and the toilet (camping toilet called Kampa Karzy) i bought to go in his bedroom always has wee in it in the morning, i did lift him for the first few nights at about 3am but he sometimes didn't need to go so i have left him, i have just this minute ordered the Krazy straws online, i couldn't find them in my local Asda. Oh and he has been spotted singing "row row row your boat" by me and the girls several times over last couple of weeks and my daughter even commented that he has been trying to talk loads more lately and it is certainly getting clearer especially his counting, before only people who knew him could understrand him but now anyone would, he has also started saying two syllable words like dolphin. It is amazing how much progress he has made just this year, need to buy a camcorder for the new year because when i start homeschooling i want to document his progress and then i can look back and see just how far he has come. x To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: Mum231ASD@...Date: Mon, 6 Dec 2010 17:26:37 -0500Subject: Re: Chelation Update - long & wittery Thanks Zahra, meant to say he has had another awesome Monday at school today, he used to have an issue with end of round grumps when we first started but don;t seem to be having them this time which is even better Mx Amazing news, Mandi. Guest guest
Also i have just bought a waffle maker and was busy making some yesterday morning, when he went over got his bread off the shelf bought it over to me and said "toast", i explained to him that i was making him some waffles, to which the reply in a very kurt loud voice was "toast NOW!" Well he asked so he got it and guess who ate the waffles....yes me, very nice gluten free ones they were too. He gets the NOW bit from me, as he still keeps disapearing upstairs to his bedroom where he strips his clothes off (thinks it's a great game) so i am having to tell him in my kurt voice to put his clothes back on NOW, well i can tick that word off, def knows what it means. x To: autism-biomedical-europe From: michelle0471@...Date: Mon, 6 Dec 2010 23:31:07 +0000Subject: RE: Chelation Update - long & wittery Mandi, i am loving it, seriously that is great news, i have some wonderful stuff going on here too, as you now i have been doing AC chelation since April this year, weekend rounds but odd weekends i have had off if i have been out or just need a break and TST since July. Guest guest
This is brilliant, his receptive language must have really soared from before as well. I am sure you will get a talker Mandi. We are seeing pretty much the same as you are, cognitively really big jumps, behaviour much improved with doing LDM100 again, but not quite there yet. can count clearly to 10, to include seven! He can count backwards from 10 also, and can tell us how many when asked and identify written numbers and figures. I have "mum" but only on demand, he never asks for anyone by name. We have lots of clear words and good approximations but still needs prompting, so many years not needing to ask for anything. I was moaning my face off in the car about his father the other day and he laughed so much at all the appropriate insults, same thing when I was dissing the school, he is definitely so with us, must now start to tone it down when he is around. is also making huge strides educationally, he reports feeling very tired during chelation but tells us he can understand things now and he didn't start chelating till he was 15! Vicky Re: Chelation Update - long & wittery Thanks Zahra, meant to say he has had another awesome Monday at school today, he used to have an issue with end of round grumps when we first started but don;t seem to be having them this time which is even better Mx Amazing news, Mandi. I'm so happy for you, Sam and the boys . Zahra Sent from my iPhone Well an everything update really. He has also make leaps academically already this term, 4 P grades in maths and a few in English but I forget what that was now. Guest guest
Hi Mandi,Was really great to read your post this morning. It was very inspiring and I'm so happy for you and Sam. It just goes to show how much perseverance pays off. With 3 teens, a business and a divorce your doing an incredible job. In Sweden they tuck their thumbs into their fists instead of crossing their fingers for good luck so I'll be holding my thumbs that you hear the M word in time for Xmas. xSubject: Chelation Update - long & wittery :)To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Date: Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 9:12 AM Well an everything update really. Guest guest
I've been thinking about trying chelation again - this has given me the inspiration I need!
Guest guest
Mandi, DMPS buttar protocol back in the old days under Dr U - cringe!! not good, then oral dmsa under Dr H - ok for a while then peeing got out of control ,really bad so stopped that, then did 16 rounds TD DMSA did see some very good things but again peeing out of control so stopped as had read if you don't see some improvements by then then probably not the issue, wanted to try PR EDTA but felt too intrusive! Any ideas??! Sam bigger and stronger so think we could look at this again, thanks Di x Subject: Re: Chelation Update - long & wittery :)To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Date: Tuesday, 7 December, 2010, 11:04 Thanks Di, did you ever try the TD DMPS? Didn't your Sam have issues with DMSA? Mandi x Wow thats brilliant Mandi!! Sam the Big Man!! makes me want to look at chelating here again - will have to get the brain working first! Really fantastic news, you all so deserve it! Di xx
Guest guest
Desire to listen improves when he knows what you are saying, I think he knows. As for we do have a very clear f***er!!!!! This proves it's chelation as it isn't a word we are working on with VB, ha, ha but where did he hear it? Now let me think. is on ALA but it's really my fault because I keep dropping intolerant supps which he does tolerate, have to write them all down now as I give them, it's confusing with 2 of them being chelated. Guest guest
Mandi, Such good news!!! I so recall your postings on A-M as things were beginning. Are you going to update there? Please think about it!! When my daughter's sensory began to kick in, she would come w bewildered look and point out a tiny scratch. Up until then she could have been run over by a truck and barely noticed. So let Sam delight in the snow and all the other tastes and textures he has never known! > > > > > > > > Well an everything update really. > > As many of you know we have had major issues with aggressive behaviour > since Sam hit puberty big time. Guest guest
Marina, We are on Round 30, but Phil only does the dose at 10pm and 7am. I do all the night ones. Our rounds are Mondays to Thursday mornings and so i do all night doses as Phil has quite a stressful job in the City and it would be a disaster if he had to get up....plus i am a control freak when it comes to this!! The reason why we do ours during the week is becasue Sam is Home Ed and i didn't want our weekends being controlled by chelation. I want a lie in sometimes! I take all our stuff abroad and just carry on as normal. I can remember being on a rollercoaster, about to be launched, shouting at Phil to give Sam his tablet. It just blends into life after a while. But you can also miss the odd round too to give everyone a break. When we went to Devon in the summer for a week, i just wanted a week of no bloody getting out of bed so we missed it that week. As Sam swallows capsules, i now buy size 000 capsules and pour the breakfast, lunch and dinner smaller capsules into them and it makes it so much easier. He now only has to swallow a couple for each sitting! Which is going to make it alot easier when i go to the states on Thursday. Less pots....unless customs pull me! Guest guest
I don't know how you manage it with TST and ABA as well, folks who do biomed and education full on are my hero'sDitto what Mandi said , and it's so great to hear of Harry's progress. It sounds like he is going ahead in leaps and bounds with his speech and that's fantastic. xSubject: Re: Chelation Update - long & wittery :)To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Date: Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 9:44 PM Excellent news Good you are taking some weekends off too, its a very long process and you have to be able to survive it, I don't know how you manage it with TST and ABA as well, folks who do biomed and education full on are my hero's, I could only ever manage one so lucky Sam is in a good school. If I didn't have help from school therapist with TST I wouldn't be getting very far with that either though he did let me do the liver massage ones this weekend, acted a bit lairy after a while so I stopped and then asked for more, putting my hands back in just the right place. Usually he giggles too much to do it properly but now seems to know it makes him feel better Keep up the good work Mandi x Mandi, i am loving it, seriously that is great news, i have some wonderful stuff going on here too, as you now i have been doing AC chelation since April this year, weekend rounds but odd weekends i have had off if i have been out or just need a break and TST since July. Also Harry has been taking his pull up off at night, as you know he has been toilet trained in the daytime for nearly 3 years, so i have taken the plunge and in 2 weeks he has only had 2 wet nights but they were just dribbles in the bed not really wet and the toilet (camping toilet called Kampa Karzy) i bought to go in his bedroom always has wee in it in the morning, i did lift him for the first few nights at about 3am but he sometimes didn't need to go so i have left him
