will kombucha absorb bad smell?

Hi all,

I am moving into my old sailboat and will brew my kombucha inside the boat.

Because I read many times that kombucha absorbs what is around where it

ferments, I am concern about humidity smell inside my boat(it is an old boat)

could it influence the quality of my brew?

did anyone experienced a similar situation?
