Guest guest
Greetings Dragon Slayers Well, here goes. Warm welcomes to all the new members, young and older. We are always sad that you have had to seek us out, but glad that we are here to inform, support and spread the word. Harry.....hope that you have a good outcome from your shoulder surgery. Having a messed up right ( dominant) hand I feel your frustration..lol The snow here has been terrible, we have had well over 100cm of snow. We have highways shut down from Mud slides, and avalanche fears have ceased truck traffic into and out of the Okanagan ( where I live in BC)..the truck that brings in Jakes " groceries " is parked on the side of a road waiting to get through the mud slides, or extreme avalanche risks ( so no traffic being allowed through the passes)Poor Jakers...LOL I have had to shovel my car in and out every day for the last week or two. Today I can no longer do it...I shovel out in the am after the snow plows pile the snow around my car to the bottom of the doors. I then have to shovel myself IN. Today, just to get off the street I just plowed the car in..so now the car is stuck...so tomorrow I get to dig out again....unlike the neighbours in my old 'hood, around here, no one is friendly, and people keep to themselves, and the guy with the snowblower just uses it for himself wahhhhhh! For those of us who are feeling the dragon's flame, I wish you a warm, soft place to rest and recoup. Enough meds to take the edge off, and if you need a sympathetic ear or hundreds.......just drop in here. As our Founder Tom Kufahl used to say...come...sit....talk!!!! To some of the oldtimers.....please remember that new people come here to our mailing list to find information and support. Be gentle with your postings, always think how that e-mail you " send " will be received by already very fearful, and uncertain newbies. Remember when you were newly diagnosed, I do, and though it was 15 years ago, I recall not finding anything on SD, and having gone through a really rough onset, was terrified!!! Well, today we have the Foundation Site, through the hard work of many people!! Best of all we have all of you. You who tirelessly answer the questions of the new folk. Understanding their need for so many answers to questions that even their doctors may not be able to answer.....so, I ask that as you respond to those queries you remember how fragile these unwell people/children truly are, and tender your responses with thoughtfullness. Please know how grateful I am to you all for caring and sharing...whether it's a funny story or new information, supporting one of us who might be feeling crappy or venting....I thank all of you for your involvement in dealing with the Dragon! Regards and smiles CAT may the Dragons miss you and the Angels find you! __________________________________________________________________ Looking for the perfect gift?
