Guest guest
Hi Vickie, What part of California are you in?I'm in Ramona,CA..I raise Nigerian Dwarf & Nubian goats plus a few crosses..My hands lock up when I hand milk so I have 3 different types of hand operated milking machines..The newest one is the easiest,I got a Henry Milker.. I have fibromyalgia and nerve damage due to a few accidents-falling down,lawn-mower accident,etc...I hurt, but I don't know what I'd do,without my goats..They keep me sane... If your near by,your welcome to come & hang out with my goats..I won't be starting to milk until my NuMancha's kids are at least 4 months old..She kidded on 12-5-10 with twin doe kids..They are black & tan like their purebred nubian sire:Jericho..I'm guessing my boer will kid this month and the Nubian and toggenburg does will kid in Feb.or March..I have a few of my Nigerian Dwarf does bred, and they are due in March too..I'd like to have more people visit my goats to play with the kids,so my kids won't be so shy of people...I let my does raise their kids and by the 4th month I more the kids to another pen & start milking their dam.. I culture kefir too, both milk & water kefir..I drink the water kefir and use the milk kefir to make a wonderfully smooth cooked curd cheese.. intro Hi My name is Vickie.I use to have milk goats until my hands no longer allowed my to milk, and we are in the process of sell our farm in TN. Guest guest
Hi Wish I lived closer, I live in Bakersfield. I miss my animals. I thought of buying a milking machine but by that time my husbands health became an issue and the Dr.'s told us we need to be around family, so that meant moving back to CA. I know about how you hurt but you push through it. I sheared 10 sheep 3 angora goats every year for their fiber, it took me at least 6 to 10 months to recover. I found great homes for my goats, sheep and llama. My dad use to live in Hemit, and my nieces and nephew they had parts in the Ramona Pageant every year, until they moved to Utah. Guest guest
I will definately let everyone know of our progress the biggest issue we have now is getting him to sit still in a class room he gets up and roams the halls because he cannot seem to focus if I get that under control he will be able to be mainstream that is what we are concentrating on now thanks Sonji > > > Hi > > > > My name is Sonji and I have a 15 year old son who has Autism we are using a biomedical approach to recover him including raw and fermented foods.
