He introduces himself in multiple places and has been published 100's of times! If another doctor doubts this I'm sure s/he has many ways to validate that and nothing any of us can do to change their doubts! If they aren't interested in checking their official publications then I certainly understand why I know more about PA than they do! How do we know it is really him answering all our posts? He signs each post and how many of the thousands of answers have been wrong? If somebody hacked his id and is answering the posts they are pretty damn smart because they always get the right answer! How did you (that's any of you) get so smart regarding PA? Did the PA Good Fairy come down with his magic wand one night! Even the Nephrologhist I had the most trouble with acknowledged how well versed and knowledgable I was regarding PA! (Probably because he couldn't answer some questions like, " Could the fact that spiro had my excess aldo under control be a reason for my blood sugar to spike? " The real answer will be if he can answer my questions next time we meet or tell me he'll find out and get back to me!) I'm sorry but at some time they need to become part of YOUR Team and if they can't figure out the accuracy of your knowledge and where you got it, it't time for you as Team Leader to find a team player! I just read about X disease and I have at least one pain like that therefore I must have X disease.CE Grim MDYou're right, but no doc can take the time to validate every patient that has their own diagnosis off the internet. Now, we are examples of system failure for some time to diagnosis, but for every one of us that had an idea what was wrong from our own research, there are likely 10x that many that come in to the doc with something they are certain of that is wrong. Patients have a strong tendency to "find" that diagnosis that validates something in their life that has run amok - weight seems to be the biggest issue with people - fatigue a close second. It seems nearly everyone who you see tends to claim they ate/eat perfect, they exercise (or they did but it "didn't work"), and everything about their habits is so perfect so it "has to be hormonal". And we know that's just not true, but sometimes it is. But they come in with a self diagnosis that says why they are not the same 18 year old cheerleader weight now at age 40. It's never diet or exercise to the patient, or the intake to burn off ratio, but something else. So it's difficult for all really. Docs ignore to much that is valid and good and patients often want the answer they want and nothing else from info off the internet. I did find one outside of the of the site but you have to pay for it. No matter if it is on group site or google still not likely to get non Internet user Dr to read it. From information my nephew who works at the VA told me most on the VA Dr don't believe what any one brings them from the Internet.My guess is when a Dr says he doesn't know of Dr Grim they are not keeping up to date on treating B/P anyway. Reality though doesn't always match what should be. If they took to heart the things we brought up our road would have been much smoother. Were just talking reality here and not defending anything. How we change it is the million dollar question. I had one doc, cardiologist, who, apparently believes you only answer a question or speak when spoken to. He wanted no conversation and flipped out (I can't adequately describe his bizarre flip out, but my wife was with me this visit so I am glad she saw how he was) when I thanked him for something. I did report him though as his issues surely went deeper than me and he didn't need to be seeing patients if something like that messed him up as bad as it did (after the flip out he mumbeled for 5 minutes while trying to write, over and over again, "I am just trying to help; I am just trying to help......"). Like I have said it is almost a disease in and of itself, this poor medical care lately.
