Good going! There's so much evidence that CoQ10, L-carnitine and possibly also hawthorn, can do as much as any ACE inhibitor can. I've heard of people using doses up to 700 mg of Q10, but under a physician's supervision, monitoring blood levels. Some people just don't absorb it well and need lots more. Do you know of Langsjoen? He's a cardiologist in Tyler, TX who uses high dose Q10 with his patients and has actually been able to take some patients off the heart transplant list. About feeling sick, maybe your BP went too low with the combination of things? My mother started to get dizzy and sick from her ACE inhibitor even though it was the same dose as usual, so she had to cut back the dose. Having such high BP, it never occurred to her that her pressure might be too low now, but it was. Maybe you're doing so many good things for yourself that the meds are too much for you now! Also, the meds deplete certain nutrients, so that can cause reactions too especially after you've been on them a while-- I know ACE inhibitors deplete zinc, but I don't know about the others. -

Yeah, that can be nerve wracking. I had that experience once when my doc gave me a tiny dose of a beta blocker while in his office. My BP plunged so low they couldn't read it. He had me in a reclining chair practically on my head. If I had been home alone, I probably would have freaked, but he was so cool about it, reassuring me that my pressure would just come back up.. eventually <lol!>.. and it wasn't dangerous. Of course the idea of giving a beta blocker to someone whose BP was already low, seemed a bit nuts to me to begin with :-) I hope can you get those dosages adjusted downward! -
Guest guest
> ~~What's an ACE inhibitor? Angiotension Converting Enzyme inhibitor. (More: http://www.hcoa.org/hcoacme/chf-cme/chf00021.htm) I'm actually on an ARB (angiotensin II receptor blocker) inhibitor, Cozaar, because ACE inhibitors make me cough ferociously. I still haven't gotten my voice back completely and it's been months since I've been off Enalapril. I want off ALL of the damn things.
