fitness coach/christi taylor

this morning i tried a new game for the wii. my fitness coach

is more like a programmable dvd then a fitness game. you assess your

goals, measurements and weight. maya(the digital coach) makes

suggestions on what to focus on but you can focus on whatever you want

(upper, lower, abs, cardio, weight loss, and stretching) for various

times (15-60 min. IIRC). there are options for music and sceneary but

many you have to unlock with fitness credits. there is also an option

to add more credits for what you do on your own. this doesn't use the

board or the remote for your actual workout like wii fit does. from

time to time she asks how you are feeling(not so good, working hard,

having a hard time) but this is the only time you use the remote during

the actual workout.the downside is that she doesn't cue when

switching sides which is hard for some exercises when you can't look at

the screen. you cannot pick what exercises you get to do. you just pick

your focus, length of workout, musics and scene and then follow along.

lots of breaks which would be nice if say it was a strength or cardio

focus but i have been picking flexiblity focus and there are just as

many rests when IMO there doesn't need to be. this may or may not

change as i progress more with the game.for overall fitness i

dont' think this is a bad idea and would be great for those kind of

starting out but i would be using it more to supplement and add on to

other workouts(hence focusing more on stretching right now for 15 min).

it has it flaws and could be better but i feel it would be great for

add on, lighter days, or just to break boredom(many a days i stare at

my dvd collection not knowing what to do LOL).after my 15 min

flexiblity workout i unwrapped a christi taylor workout. now i wouldn't

call this a virgin workout b/c i tried it with netflix and decided last

month to purchase it. cardio collectibles

is half step half floor cardio done in familiar christi style. i only

did the step portion b/c every body in the house though my workout time

meant lets go hang on the coach(with a tv in every room you would think

they could have occupied themselves for at least an hour). the step

isn't TOO hard to follow if you have experience. IIRC the hi-lo was

much more tricky to follow. she builds up the combos taking from the

top and adds changes while you are still doing the orignial move so you

know what is coming up. i have to say i like christi's style b/c she

makes hard steps easy to follow if you are familiar with her moves and

cueing of them. the music is more hip hop in this one which is so-so

b/c i am not a fan but it also adds in some club style music which i do

like when i workout. the set is basic with wood flooring, white sheets

with a pinkish light shining on them.YMCA again today most

likely swimming but i want a break from raquectball b/c my shoudlers

are sore from all that swining. i was suppose to do tae-bo but i didn't

want to over work my shoulders.off to make tater salad to go with dinner. grilling it today, to nice to turn on the stove.
