Testing meat or milk for antibiotics

Hi everyone,

I have a question I'm hoping someone one this list might know the answer to.

The family I get my milk from has one cow (no computer). They got another

at a livestock sale (a holstein) but when they got her home, they found she

had severe mastitis and ended up slaughtering her. In the meat they found a

pocket of abscess near the udder. That's the background.

Here's the question: they'd like to use the meat for hamburger if it's free

of antibiotics but can't find where they could send a sample of the meat

( & /or her milk-they saved some) to get it tested for antibiotics. They

didn't have much luck tracking down the source of the cow and getting

answers. They've called a bunch of places but can't find anyone who knows

about testing for antibiotics. We live in Washington state. Does anyone

know what lab either in this state or nationally would do this sort of

testing? Thanks so much.
