" i know my >ND(who wrote " traditional foods are your best medicine " based on price's >work) says it's not normal for healthy women. I would say that PMS as we experience it isn't normal, not only because of dietary problems but also because in our culture we want to whisk the whole nasty issue of menstruation away and make it invisible. Menstruation is like a built-in detox cycle physically and emotionally, and if any aspect of its functioning is blocked or denied on any level, tensions mount to the level of symptoms. What I think is normal is for us to experience various changes that come with each cycle, fully embrace them and process them. Doesn't have to become a dysfunction at all, in that light. And I'm sure that when a woman is well nourished and robustly healthy, the changes that come with the cycle aren't experienced as symptoms at all, just changes. -
