Guest guest
Preeclampsia is at or after 20 weeks and requires, by guidelines, protein in the urine. Right now it's just hypertension, but one solo BP would not even define the condition of HTN. Could be white coat. You admitted you were nervous. Subject: Re: pregnancy visitTo: hyperaldosteronism Date: Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 1:22 PM Thumbnail is your signature, to tell us that you do have PA for instance, what meds do you take etc. and be carefull 160/100 is preeclampsia and you could loose your baby, as Dr Grimm said you need a high risk group, or spiro ( if you have PA ) no idea how the salt helps with morning sickness, can you explain that.TYVMgood luck ! > > > > > Today I'm 10 weeks pregnant and got to hear the baby's heartbeat at > > > my visit with the OB. Guest guest
I'll have to figure out the thumbnail thing, but as for the morning sickness, I can keep down things like cheese, chips, tacos, bread and pizza, but can't keep down rice, potatoes and most veggies. Even the low Na V-8 won't stay down when I can get it down. IThe only fruit that stays down is watermellon. > > > > > > > Today I'm 10 weeks pregnant and got to hear the baby's heartbeat at > > > > my visit with the OB. Guest guest
Just for the record with my first pregnancy I could eat chips and dr. pepper. Definitely not health food, but until you have spent time pregnant, feeling horrible every waking moment don't criticize. I threw up everything for 21 weeks with the first one. Tomato soup and frozen burritos were things I tried to eat. Will keep you in my prayers . I think the morning (all day)sickness is much worse than natural childbirth!41 yo WF, 5 kids, Marine Corps wife, PA diagnosed in 2007To: hyperaldosteronism Sent: Tue, June 7, 2011 4:00:58 PMSubject: Re: pregnancy visit I'll have to figure out the thumbnail thing, but as for the morning sickness, I can keep down things like cheese, chips, tacos, bread and pizza, but can't keep down rice, potatoes and most veggies. Guest guest
You have to be careful about the low salt idea though. Ask your doctor first. Salt reduction is not generally recommended in pregnancy as the need for sodium is much greater. Amniotic fluid is salt water and your body is making a bunch. To: hyperaldosteronism Sent: Wed, June 8, 2011 10:23:44 AMSubject: RE: pregnancy visit You should go extremely low salt and take your pressure every day at home. Guest guest
Warning on spiro FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Spironolactone passes into breast milk and could cause harm to a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. > > > > > > > > > Today I'm 10 weeks pregnant and got to hear the baby's heartbeat at > > > > > my visit with the OB. Guest guest
And the baby is laying in salt in bones etc. We do know that HTN problems in pregnancy seem to be lower in low salt populations. Some still think a high salt diet + all the aldo made during preg make be a contributor to HTN in Preg.I would be seen by a high risk pregnancy group who is used to dealing with this problem but prob don't have much experience in PA and pregnancy.Keep us posted.Home BPs will help them better decide what to do.CE Grim MDYou have to be careful about the low salt idea though.
