Guest guest
Hi ! Good job! Hooray for FIRM workouts! lol I really enjoyed this one when I did it as well. It's pretty highly rated from what I've read - like all of Tracie's FIRM workouts. This has been shared before, but here's a great general 90 day rotation for the FIRM, so you get an idea of how they schedule things week to week. http://tiny.cc/2gXXW I'm doing a FIRM rotation in March and would be thrilled if you joined in at any point!! I'm doing one week of classics, one week of parts/classics, one week of BSS3, and one week of BSS4. Hugs, Sara > > I needed an inbetween length workout today (this was 45 minutes so just right) and wanted something that combined aerobics and weights because my workouts are still so sporadic, I figured if I could get both in with one workout I'd feel better. I also wanted something that would work me without killing me too. I'm just grabbing workouts as I go right now, planning maybe the night before, like I did with this one but I'm definitely not working from a rotation. Anyway, I chose The Firm Maximum Body Shaping (also known as Maximum Body Sculpting).
Guest guest
This is one of my all time favorite FIRMs. I am hoping to be able to get some FIRMs in at some point......not sure when, though. Donna Subject: The Firm Maximum Body Shaping (Sculpting)To: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2009, 10:55 AM I needed an inbetween length workout today (this was 45 minutes so just right) and wanted something that combined aerobics and weights because my workouts are still so sporadic, I figured if I could get both in with one workout I'd feel better. This was primarily weights but the cardio intervals were intense enough that I got my heart rate into and above my training zone. It uses the tall box (I used my small step with 4 sets of risers), a dowel (I used a yard stick, it turned out to be just the right size for me) and dumbbells (light, medium and heavy). There's a lot of cardio and weights using the tall box and I found using it just the right amount of challenge and too much with really heavy weights. I had to change my weights a lot trying to figure out what I needed to use. This was a virgin workout for me and I didn't know what to expect. I liked it a lot though. The cardio was extremely simple (no dance) and the weight work seemed to do the whole body. It was probably an intermediate level workout but could be made more or less intense to suit other levels. Tracie Long leads it and she cued wonderfully! I haven't done enough Firm videos to know the cues for some things and found myself a bit behind at times but that will work itself out the next time I do this I'm sure. I also have to figure out how to set up my workout space so that I don't have to keep moving the step around. The workout is definitely not a space hog so even in my very tiny space I think I can do that. It took a lot of time to keep moving the step (with the risers) in and out. I burned a lot more calories than I thought I would with this too, I think that is because there's a lot of lower body work. I definitely enjoyed it and felt quite confident doing it even though it I'd never done it before and haven't done a lot of Firm workouts. I'm considering doing this for 10 workouts to see what results I get, like they say on the box, that you'll get visible results after 10 workouts. What they don't say though is how spread apart the workouts can be for you to see results!! This might be my only workout this week, though I might do yoga on Friday and next week I'm working close to full time with school meetings and other things going on in the evening so it will be worse. Maybe I should wait to try my experiment in March when things should (in theory) slow down. Anyway, I will be coming back to this one. Hopefully soon too. Guest guest
Thanks for the link, Sara!! I have seen this and had it bookmarked on my old computer. Will do so now on this one and print it out too! My workout time is so messed up lately that I'm hesitant to plan a rotation although I have been thinking about doing a Firm rotation anyway. Everything is okay (though DH has been having some issues with his ulcerative colitis and possibly his anemia too, he's seeing doctors and hopefully getting it straightened out) I'm just working a ton and having other things going on with school and church volunteer activities when I'm not working, it seems to all have hit at once somehow. Anyway, I'll definitely consider joining you. I think it is where I'm headed anyway so it would work. I'll let you know as we get closer. Re: The Firm Maximum Body Shaping (Sculpting) Hi !Good job! Guest guest
Hi , I hope your DH feels better soon! No worries about planning a rotation. I just wanted to let you know that I'd be FIRMin' in March so any FIRMs you happened to do (or not) would be fun to chat about and compare. I hope things get less busy for you soon! Miss your posts, Sara > > Thanks for the link, Sara!! I have seen this and had it bookmarked on my old computer.
