Guest guest
Alli, My Rheumy asked me to keep a journal of temps and when pain is worse, and what I do during the day. I don't know about low temps, but the high fever is what I deal with almost daily, after keeping the journal for a while, we noticed a pattern of the high temps coming around 3:00 or 3:30 everyday, they range from 101 to 104. When my fever is over 102 my rash appears and then in a couple of hours it all goes back to as normal as I can be, I generally have a temperature around 100 degrees so the Rheumy said this would be my baseline temperature. I can usually tell the difference in a sick fever, or just a Still's fever. I never have had a low temp, I am hoping the Kineret will help some with the fevers. Today will be a week that I have been on the Kineret, and I seem to be getting worse. Has that happened to you when you first started taking Kineret? I don't know if any of this will help, but at first I thought why do I need to keep a journal but after a year of doing one it helps alot, not only for my Rheumy, but for myself. She told me to write down anything I think is important, like stressful situations, etc... About fevers Does anyone ever have a problem with low fevers and I mean low normal fevers like 96-96.5 in the morning (when they aren't sick with a cold/infection) and then a high fever in the afternoon/night - like 100 or higher? That is what mine does daily? It was better for a while with Kineret when I first started, but now, it doesn't help the temps much at all, so I know to expect the temp to start rising anytime after 12 noon, depending on what I am doing. If I am resting most of the day, it will wait until 2 or so, otherwise, it's earlier and by night time, it's higher, like 101, 102 or even 103. Feels like my eyes will pop out, but then the next morning it's 96 again. I don't think my body can handle this much longer. At a minimum it's a 4 degree variance, Most days a 5 Degree, but then at least 5-8 days a month a 8 degree variance. It's kind of hard to deal with when you know you don't have an infection. I just keep clothes that they use to dry cars with in the fridge moist. They stay really cold and wrap my neck and head and sometimes my body in them to try to bring the fever down, since I learned a long time ago that Advil/Tylenol does nothing to help my fevers. Anyway, I was really curious, as was my doc who asked me to see if anyone else had a similar pattern, to see if anyone ever had anything like this or does now. Let me know... Thanks and I hope everyone had a pain free, fever free day. Alli
