Coconut oil - unrefined?

I found a source for coconut oil, which a friend

assured me is undeodorised, unbleached etc. She

called the manufacturers, called KTC, to check this.

I am still suspicious though.... it is 99p for 500ml.

That's around $1.30!!!

Thing is, their website says it's refined.

It smells like coconut, is solid in the jar and is a

creamy or yellowy white, not bright white. Is this

what it's meant to look like? Or should it be bright

white?

Thanks for any feedback

Jo

Jo,

I've used this CO in the past... found it in many Asian grocers shops... it IS

deodorised... has no smell of coconuts whatsoever... it comes in a bottle which

is makes it difficult to use... I used to gently melt it and pour into a wide

mouthed jar to be able to spoon it out as needed... except for a few UK summer

days, the CO is always solid... guess if this is your only option it's better

than any veg. oil...

In my experience, the higher-quality oils have usually been bright

white.
