Elaine>> I tried making my own and it was really awful. No idea of what i did wrong. No raw butter available around here, when i get so that i really have to have some good raw butter i just splurge and have some sent UPS 2nd day ground. I have yet to get butter to come out, but my take is that you do discard the watery liquid so, yes, you do leave something behind. I am suspicious of butter oil and maybe i shouldn't be but it seems that your leaving a lot behind. Fractionalizing may not be the term that i wanted but i can't come up with another that i like better. How is butter oil made ? How can they make enough of it to sell to literally thousands of people? And how do you separate X factor out ?
