MCT is not sweet at all. I do buy it in it's pure form, and it is

very bland, no flavor at all. It doesn't have additives I think, it's

distilled.

My understanding is that " sweet " has to do with the shape of

the molecule, not how it is digested. Which is why Stevia

can be sweet even though it has no energy to speak of. Your

taste and smell receptors primarily pick up on molecule shape.

(which is pretty amazing, when you think about it!).

Right, but stevia has a different sweetness that's not very similar to

sugars, whereas the sweetness of coconut milk and butter IMO is.

If MCT oil isn't sweet, that pretty much thwarts the fatty acid-->sweet idea

I guess.

Suze, sweet cream is as opposed to sour cream, just means it's not fermented.

It's sweeter than sour cream :-)

For what it's worth, I find that some cream tastes mildly sweet.
