Hello once again; I'd like ideas from all of you regarding your

trash service. Would you like to see your " compostable " trash used

only to make compost and vermicompost? In other words stop filling

the landfills with " compostable " materials? I bought a 20 ton trash

truck today and, as a wanna-be organic farmer I have this idea of

hauling organic materials to a composting sight (at a profit). I

tried leaf hauling previously on a complimentary basis and that

didn't last long. I'm thinking/hoping some cities already have this

and am thinking of relocating to one of those " organic cities/towns "

without this service. Would any of you be willing to pay $50.

monthly for this service? Thanks for your input. Dennis Kemnitz food

It's a great idea but i don't think i'd pay fifty dollars. at that price it

becomes a luxury and there is too much competition. also, storing compost

for pick up would be a hassle, but not undoable, in my densely populated

environ during the summer months. Also, maybe i'm wrong, but i felt throwing

away food matter was one of the lesser garbage sins. It's a neat idea though

and i wish you luck. I would say come to Portland, oR, which is pretty

progressive overall, but it seems people are pretty broke overall too.

If you could get one of those " anything into oil " gizmos I'd

pay for it ... actually I'd pay anyone who was willing to come up

a 700 foot driveway to pick UP the trash instead of us hauling down

cans to sit by the side of the road and be knocked over by passing

cars. As it is, we haul them to the dump ourselves, after recycling

everything we can. Mind you, I'm likely not in your area, but that's

my 2c worth!
