Guest guest Posted December 23, 2011 Report Share Posted December 23, 2011 A further note - I found the original paper. They studied Boswellia papyrifera in northern Ethiopia. The cause of population decline was seedlings not growing into established saplings, beetle attacks and wildfires. Tapping the trees for resin didn't seem to be a problem in this particular study.
