> I learned a long time ago that fads come and then they go...so my take is 'let

that problem go silently into the dark'....because behind them? Is another group

who will wage war upon them, us, or some MLM group.

But do they ever go? A couple months ago I was at a local Healthy Living Expo

and there was a table with Young Living. I know people regularly say they use

doTerra, too. These companies make illegal medical claims but the FDA does

nothing. But the FDA also takes the lead from consumers, and responds (in theory

- not my personal experience) to consumer complaints - they don't seek out

opportunities to Warn companies. I warned them about Ava NonToxic,

their Field Report says " Initial Evaluation = FDA Action Indicated " - but they

never even wrote this company a Warning Letter. And the FDA never would have

addressed the concern about the hair product Brazilian Blowout unless there was

consumer pressure. So I guess I am just hoping for some consumer pressure from

the people most injured by a company, especially one constantly paraded out and

set on a pedistal by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics as " the " industry role

model - and by their own words - the " only " nontoxic cosmetics company. Natural

perfumers are injured when consumers think these are essential oil perfumes. But

this is the end of my journey in regards to this company. I feel like reaching

out to this group is my last hope, but also the last time I am spending my life

energy in trying to stop this company from selling their dangerous products and

making their dishonest claims. Thanks for your thoughts. Sue

>I need to point out that ambergris is NOT obtained from killing whales.

Thanks! I'll fix that today! I think you have to register or something in

order to post on that site - very annoying! Thanks for visiting and commenting!

@pito:

I'm curious about Do Terra; a friend of mine just recently got involved

with them, I really don't know much about them, seems to be some other MLM

type company. I checked out their web page and it was filled with the usual

stuff and claims. If you can give me information regarding them I would

appreciate it and would like to pass this on to my friend whose knowledge

of authentic ingredients is very limited.

Thanks,

Isis

I don't have an opinion other than the same impression you got from visiting

their website - claims and statements that are BIG Red Flags. That, and it is my

understanding that the founders of this company are former Young Living devotees

- and that alone makes me mistrust them. I think this company and Young Living

and many other MLM style companies are potentially dangerous because their

salespeople often have no point of reference for the statements they make in

selling their essential oil products and promoting their treatment methods.

They simply don't know how much they DON'T KNOW. They don't know the FDA

regulations for selling cosmetics - so they break the law(s) ALL the time. They

have no background in safety so they make unsafe recommendations - the idea that

anyone can sign up and sell the products gives them a false sense of security

" Well if someone like me can sell them...they MUST be perfectly safe! " It's an

Ignorance is Bliss - follow the leader - sales model. And what is scary is -

they follow this companies teachings like it is a religion - with no room for

doubters or challenges to their beliefs.
