Guest guest
HI , I hope is feeling better. We had the same issues with high chairs when going out to eat after was first casted. We did the pillows too. Our solution was........don't go out to eat. We didn't until was more comfortable. 's first 3 casts were over the shoulder, very high. The other 3 were under the arm......those made a HUGE difference in everything. I would say after that first cast it got much easier for him. When we did go I would just hold him. Not too much fun for me, but at least we got out of the house. Oh Daddy sometimes took turns with me. LOL. Shopping carts were another big one for us. He was just not comfortable so one of us usually carried him around. All that said to let you know he eventually was fine sitting in high chairs out in public and shopping carts. Sorry I was not much help........I just never found anything that worked. Take care, Tasha McDowell wrote: Hello everyone - Have I mentioned how much we LOVE Dr. Kishan?! Our appointment on Thursday went so well; afterwards, I felt like I'd been to therapy. Yes, has a runny nose, but we went ahead and scheduled the 2nd cast for April 29th (it would have been sooner if was well). If he gets better, then we're fine...if he's still sick, then we'll postpone or cut of the cast off and wait, etc. We do what we need to do in 's best interest and play it by ear. Loma Med Ctr should have the AMIL frame to use with on the 29th thanks to our anonymous donor! As other parents have mentioned about their children, has completely adjusted to cast #1. I'm so thankful for ET, casting, ISOP, , and our C.A.S.T group. I'm 100% sure (and that's rare for me) that we are doing the right thing, even if it only buys some time before a future surgery. I think I feel this way because of the research I did in the beginning...reading all the articles, seeing the results and stories, and getting recommendations from several doctors (I think I sent medical info & x-rays/MRIs to 5 Mehta-trained doctors and 1 non-Mehta trained doctors for their opinions). I trust Mehta and have so much respect for her! I do have a minor question for the group: What do you use for your child to sit in when you go out to a restuarant? Our booter seats and the restuarant's seats just don't work and ends up almost slipping out. No pillow placement works either. Maybe 's cast is different (higher) and others don't have this issue, but if you do, please let me know what works. At home, I feed him in his walker or standing.
