Dear Friends:

We're coming up on ten years of sharing, building the files,

links and making this group the wonder repository of natural

aromatics knowledge on the Internet. I have to stop and let that

sink in sometimes. I remember when the first members joined, 10,

then 20, then more and more, and now we're over 2300 members. On

June 14th, this group will be ten years old. We have over 45,000

messages in our archives, and they're easily searchable due to

the tight controls we moderators keep on the posts. It's a lot

of work to trim off excessive quotes, sometimes remove HTML

gibberish that attaches itself to the incoming messages, etc.,

but it's so worth it because it makes the archives more readable.

I've been otherwise pulled off this group due to business and

personal reasons, but I do read all the messages, and wish I had

more time to post here. I am going to try to make an effort now

that my life is regaining a semblance of balance. Here's

something so unusual I noticed in the past few months I have to

mention it: In February and March there were exactly 97 posts

each month. Statistically, that's the lowest number of posts

since the first year of this forum, and well, it's also just

plain weird that that number came up two months in a row. At the

end of February I noticed how low it was, and when it came up the

same exact number in March, I felt the universe was leaving a

little message! We've had an uptick in April, so we've broken

the 97 count, but we're still way below what we should be at with

over 2300 members.

Most natural perfumers are a bit introverted, and we know that

here, and just reading and not posting is fine. Please remember,

the goal of this forum is to be the best educational forum for

natural perfumery, and it is. I'll post more, answer more

questions and encourage y'all to network more. There is no

community-building asset like this group anywhere else, and I

feel that the art of natural perfumery is better for it because

of the contributions of the members - even the ones who read and

don't post, because they're using the knowledge shared here, and

that's what counts.
