D'Adamo. > >If any of you have read this book, can you give us your opinions? Janet, There's a review of the book on the WAPF website, under Book Reviews. (negative review, I should add). I agree with the reviewer. People I talk to who've been on a SAD diet and seem to do well on their blood type diet, are reducing junk food and eating basically wholesome, unprocessed foods. No wonder it's an improvement! -
Guest guest
Janet, Haven't read it but know for my blood type A he suggests a near vegetarian diet which would kill me as quick as SAD nearly did. The only thing of importance D'Adamo uses is lectins, foods to avoid because they agglinate blood in certain blood types. Metabolic Typing Diet book has the list. On NPR recently there was an interview with the author of The Blank Slate, Modern Denial of Human Nature. He said in the interview that blood types are mixed in races and ethnic groups. That got me interested to see what he says in his book. D'Adamo's father was a naturopath. It seems the naturopathic background leans toward heavy carb diets wheather they're testing for blood type diets or metabolic diets. For example in Eat Right for Your Type, type O is the only type that should eat animal protein daily. Type O is predominant in Mexico where fish and chicken are eaten daily if its available. Guest guest
Wanita, i am also blood type A and a Protein Type in Metabolic Typing. I shiver to think of myself trying to follow the Type A diet after experiencing how good a high protein/fat diet feels. Guest guest
I have been doing NT for about 3 years now but still having tummy problems. Discovered that I am gluten intolerent through this web site a few months ago (thanks Heidi) at which point I stopped gluten. Still having problems. I keep going to either the yard eggs or the raw dairy that is causing it. But back to the topic at hand which is the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet.... There is a " die hard " blood type diet person that works at my health food store and he keeps wanting me to try it! Well I got the little book for my type which is A and agree that I could never eat that way! I came from a vegetarian lifestyle and it almost did me in! All of you out there that read the book (I didn't)...What good points did you gleem from it for type A's?? Maybe there is something there to help with my tummy problems. ~Del --- In , " Elaine " <itchyink@s...> wrote: > Wanita, i am also blood type A and a Protein Type in Metabolic Typing. Guest guest
Janet- In five words: huge steaming pile of crap. To the extent he gets positive results it's because he cuts huge swathes of junk food out of people's diets and increases many people's dietary variety, but otherwise it's just ludicrous. WAPF reviewed his book, BTW. http://westonaprice.org/book_reviews/eat_right.html >One of our customers asked us how anyone following the WAP diet felt about >the book Eat Right for Your Type, by J. Guest guest
I am eating kefiili, raw ghee (purchased from WFN) and raw cheese that does not seem to bother me, all cow dairy. Cow yoghurt that I made myself did not seem to bother me, however I don't do that any more since I have the kefiili. Is there a limit as to how much of that a person can eat?? It is sooo good and I think I " over " eat it. I do not have a source for sheep yohurt. I have read about the probiogurt but have not yet tried it. I may also be sensitive to non gluten grains. I am watching that closely, however I don't eat grains much at all. I had some chili this week that I used soaked pinto beans that did not seem to agree with me. I only soaked the beans for 24 hours. I think they may need to be soaked longer. I got the McCann's oatmeal because it is supposed to be the one that would agree with you more as it is from Ireland and mostly they don't grow wheat there but I suspect it to cause a problem too! I soak it and add lemon juice but the oatmeal smells rancid raw and tasted bad! I eat eggs mostly raw lately and only the yolks. When I eat cooked eggs they are over easy where the yolk is just warm and the white cooked. I am thinking it is the eggs! Of all things! I have been eating them pretty heavy for about 3 years and just recently within 30 minutes of eating them I will have diarrhea (this just started a few weeks ago). After that I am fine! It's like my body saying, " I don't like that " ! Right now I am not having any eggs or coconut products for about a week then I will try one then the other. Thanks for chatting with me about this! ~Del > What kind of dairy are you eating? Guest guest
I have read that about type A's and stomach cancer. I may need to go have it checked. As a rule I don't see doctors much. Don't even have a doctor and I am 62. We are all different aren't we? That is great that raw milk cured your tummy. I don't have any fermented foods at the present time. I have flopped ever time I tried it. I bought some but didn't like the taste. I am well aware that I need it! What salt are you using? I only use celtic sea salt. Maybe that would help you? It has been a long time since I had regular salt and the celtic sea salt seems to not bother me at all. It is a way to get my trace minerals. ~Del --- In , Wanita Sears <wanitawa@b...> wrote: > Del, > > Not a good point but here goes.
