For her science project my daughter took on something similar. She had four

mice and she fed them each different things. The results weren't what she

expected however she did learn something very valuable and we have talked about

it often since then. One mouse she fed a balanced diet. The mouse lived a

normal life. Relatively active with times of peace and quiet. Every so often

it

would hop on it's treadmill and exercise a bit before settling down for a

nap. Another mouse she fed nothing but cornflakes. That mouse was " hyper " for

lack of a better word. It was awake the majority of the time, running on it's

treadmill all day and all night. It about drove us crazy. We never did see

it sleep. Consequently we didn't get much sleep either as it wasn't long

before it's treadmill developed this bone chilling squeak from overuse. What

was

even more amazing though was with all the exercise the mouse continued to put

on weight getting fatter and fatter until it was obese. It was quite the eye

opener as to just how many servings of carbs one needs a day and how damaging

boxed food can be.

this is the one about the rats surviving by eating the cereal box

ahead of the rats eating the cornflakes.

it was an unpublished study done in 1960.

Wait until you read the bit about puffed wheat.

Coffee anyone?
