Guest guest
Hello Anya and group, Congrats on the 10 year anniversary! I love being a part of this group because of the members' wealth of knowledge and accessibility. When I have a question in regards to aromatics this is often my first go to place to research. Thank you all for generously sharing your discoveries here. I'd love to win the textbook. Warm Regards, Sophie
Guest guest
Happy Anniversary Natural Perfumery Group! Guest guest
I just joined this group, and haven't gotten started in natural perfumery yet! But I love the idea of it because I love the idea of connecting back to nature, and to that historical process of ancient perfumery. Plus I want to feel like an alchemist, working with extracted essences and life forces, ever questing for the elusive elixir of life! If I won this giveaway, I would choose the half-hour consultation! Andriot, owner Vetiver Aromatics <http://vetiveraromatics.com>
Guest guest
Greetings Everyone, Happy Anniversary and congratulations on creating a great community where some of us who are introverts can meet. I dabbled with natural perfumery in my youth, rediscovered it while growing through a difficult period with illness, studied with Mandy Aftel privately (an introverted thing to do), created one company, moved on to working in the oncology field and am now back with a new company and integrating what I learned through working with many wonderful cancer patients. You will find me in the garden during our growing season and in the lab when the weather is not conducive to planting and playing. If I were to win, I would love the class booklet. I love the archive of books. I am blown away at the depth of material that Anya and others have so generously offered. I love that this group personifies generosity. Guest guest
Wow, this is so generous Anya! Personally I love the fact that this group makes me feel, well no...lets me know, that I am not alone. I have been working with naturals for many years and other than at aromatherapy level, most people were not as receptive to natural perfumes as I thought they would be, and when they were receptive to the idea, they thought I was talking about those cheap bottles of " something " you buy at hippie markets... So to read other people's, experiences, struggles and successes gives me the confidence and determination to keep going, and helps me remember why I keep doing this, even if my colleagues still prefer " Eau de Britney! The othet thing I find invaluable is the threads about legislation and the the unfairness of new regulations and Anya, you do such an amazing job when it comes to this...your work and that of other natural perfumers here is an inspiration to me and I am sure, to everybody else here. If I were to win I would love the text book, but I feel just as happy having said the above, which I guess I should have said much sooner! Thank you all for this amazing community. Much love from Glastonbury in the UK. Marina~
Guest guest
I can think of a lot of reasons why I love natural perfumes, but it all really comes down to the smell, doesn't it? Natural fragrances just plain smell better. And on that note (pun intended), I would love to have the perfume kit. I have been a lurker on this list for quite a while, mostly because my financial situation has kept me from indulging my interest too much. But I've stuck with it because it's a great resource. Thanks and a big congratulations on your anniversary! Janet V.
Guest guest
Hi Anya and thank you for creating this group. I have been a member for over a year now, and have yet to begin my natural perfume blending. I have many of the EO's but tend to study, study, study rather than just jump in and " do it " . I have accumulated some EO's along the way due to suggestions by members here. When I first joined, I was overwhelmed with the information here. I have learned a lot being a part of this group, and although I haven't posted much, I really enjoy the information and the camaraderie of this group. Due to the fact that I have not started blending yet (except for use in soapmaking) I would love to have the Beginner's Kit if I am chosen. Thanks again, Pat Potter
Guest guest
Happy (almost) Anniversay, Anya! I don't say much but I do read... in fact, this is the only forum that I even *try* to keep up with anymore. Thank you for providing a platform to discuss what those of us here love most - natural essences. Best wishes for continued success! Guest guest
Hallo everyone! I'm new both to the subject and to the group. And it is remarkable that being a newcomer to the world of natural perfumery I made such a swift pace to this community. Especially regarding the fact that I live in Russia:) Many thanks to Anya for her great job! I am mostly a reader now, but hopefully will become a party for discussions soon) If I would be lucky to be picked by " atmospheric noise " I would prefer a copy of the textbook as a prize. Good luck to all, guys and girls) Yours, Ilia www.citylady.ru
Guest guest
Hi and congrats to this group! I like the helpfulness of this group, and the depth of each members love of aromatics, how it is more than a wanting to create a good perfume, how each aromatic is examined and picked by the perfumers for the traits it carries, not just because the label reads " vetiver " . I love natural aromatics not just because of the natural aspect, but because of the pure authenticity of them. No chemical ionone will ever truly compare well with a good natural orris extract. A natural aromatic product will not just carry the vibe of the creator, but of all the ingredients, there is a life and soul to this outcome. Â I would really like to a copy of the textbook, it is a very rare book, it is not something I could just go to amazon for, and I suspect the info in it may be much precious than any other perfumery text.... Guest guest
Hi Anya: Thanks so much for this Yahoo group. There's always something interesting to find. I love that aromatics are so versatile and have such a potential for waking up and sparking our being. We recently acquired some Roman Chamomile that is otherworldly. I also love that aromatics connect us with human being deep past and ancient wisdom. Barber Ancient Ways Botanicals

Guest guest
I'm new (this time) to this group and joined again partly because I am so excited by the new Standards for Natural isolates. I read: " A natural isolate is a molecule that was removed/isolated from a natural fragrance material that contains the isolate. Processes that are acceptable for removing/isolation are: fractional distillations, rectifications, and molecular distillations of natural fragrance materials, also as defined by the Guild. " I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I looked all over and was unable to find this on the Natural Perfumers website: " natural fragrance materials defined by the Guild " . Thanks! Well, basically, this group has been my primary source of information on natural perfumery since I joined a couple of years ago. I have books and articles, but even those are ones that I found out about through this group. I love that I have got to discover all these people doing incredible work - working directly with natural fragrance and/or disseminating information about it through blogs and classes. I have very much appreciated the off list correspondences I've had with a few of these. Another thing I absolutely love about this group is that it has put me in touch with some lovely perfumery people here in my own city! Funny that I might never have got to know them if it hadn't been for an international group. If I won, I would love a Friend membership in the guild. Best wishes Johanna
Guest guest
well, I've started from nothing, no knowledge whatsoever, hadn't even imagined that I would ever go in the direction of perfuming, came across the group by chance, and have learned from here (up till recently) all I know of perfumery. the blending with these magical creations of god has suppoted and carried me through the hardest -and longest- time of healing I had ever gone through in my life. For my wedding I wore a blend I had blended; the only blend I can actualy call a 'perfume' that I have created, and am proud of and pleased with. perfuming is still with me as I take this wonderful work into my life now, as a mother and hope it will travel with me through whatever else god has in mind for me. Thank you all, for generousity and kindness. -with much more to come, I am sure. If I should come out in the draw, I would like a membership to the NP Guild g'night all Hemla

Just leave a comment on what you love about this group, love about natural perfumery or aromatics, or how the information here has helped you on your natural perfumery path. Please list your prize of choice when you comment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ -------------------  Wow, congratulations on 10 years for this outstanding community!  This has been such an welcoming and informative group to be a part of. I joined when I was a wet behind the ears newbie with only the slightest idea of aromatherapy basics and have been an avid reader and occasional contributor as I have gotten some experience behind me and assimilated just a fraction of the information the group so generously shares. I can't tell you how often I get stumped, intrigued, or fascinated by a topic and head off the the archives for the group. And you know what, there are almost always answers to be had there. And on those rare occasions there aren't, a quick post to the group always proved fruitful with knowledge, shared experiences, or fellow students exploring the same things!  Happy Anniversary, and a huge thanks to all those who have shared so much over the years to make this group what it is.  I would love to be lucky enough to win a Friend level membership to the Natural Perfumer's Guild. I was a member last year and can assure anyone curious about it that it is another wonderful group of people passionate about natural perfumery. If finances hadn't proven challenging, I definitely would have continued my membership! This would be awesome to continue. Otherwise I am definitely pinching pennies to renew as soon as I can.  Much thanks and appreciation to all,
Guest guest
~~ what ISN'T to like about this group?! the information and comradarie are bar none! there is great joy in watching new perfumers grow with excitement- just like when you open that bottle for the first time after waiting what seemed an eternity in maturation. it gives outlet to practice your art... whether you're at the organ or floating around with visions of tuberose dancing in your head. true friendships have grown out of a collective of artists... now affecting and assuaging all parts of life and not just the creative spark. many thanks for our list mom, our moderators and each and everyone of us for being present, for bringing our art forward and staunchly defending it when necessary... for myself, all the while knowing we are creating a more beautiful and healthier planet and people! and... of course... there's always gary. i mean, who wouldn't want to be in a group with gary? *giggle* much light all! einsof (ps: would love the textbook, naturally.) Guest guest
Hi Anya Natural perfumery is something I've been interested in for a long time, but had no idea how to get started, not really. I've been using essential oils for a few years, produce my own aroma-melts etc, but now I want to do more than just use a few oils to create a blend, I want to produce something artful, something beautiful using Mother Nature as the inspiration. The subject of natural perfumery is one I find myself immersed in, constantly my mind is ticking with little ideas, a drop of this, a dash of that....do I need more or less to create the scent I desire. We are surrounded on a daily bases by sights and smells which illicit subconscious responses, smells which we relate to, our memories stirred, awakened. This is what natural perfumery means to me, and this group enables me to atleast create a solid foundation on which to build my own experiences, and share them with people who get it, who understand. If I should be lucky enough to win, I'd like the perfumery kit please. Beth x
