I would say it would be something a good OT would be able to work with. But finding one is another story. Here is my mum's two penneth worth.

Have you tried to put some weights on his wrist when he is writing? that may help him feel his hand and arm better. The other aid that may help would be a weighted pencil... or put something on his lap that is heavy... weight really helps our kids.................. just some idea's.

The other thing that I would try with him would be for you to give directions as to where to go with the pencil. My daughter does do some facilitated handwriting, and I give her instructions as to where to place the pencil, and it works, you just need to give directions that bit quicker than where the pencil is going, a real skill, but it is great when it works.... we started off by doing circles and then straight lines, and you could start off by saying, where to start and up down back to the beginning, etc... and don't be worried if the writing is rather large to begin with, it will get smaller.... also try hand over hand stuff.... and all you would need to do would be to hold firmly, and don't guide, just give him the verbal directions... and see where that takes you....HANDLE would be able to give you some exercises that may help, but it would cost money.... !

I find FC writing great..... everyone always has pencil's and paper available to them most of the time... good luck

I was wondering if anyone has experiences of "mirroring" - is learning to write but some letters are written in mirror image, hope that makes sense. I was wondering if HANDLE or any of the neuro development things would help with this? Also looking for feedback (good or bad) on Dr Chargarlamundi as I need new doc to hold my hand - does she do Cutlar or Buttar protocol. Or can do them (what about prescriptions?)Thanks

Just to say that my daughter had very poor handwriting, didn't colour

in between the lines etc and also mirrored many letters and numbers.

Bizarrely, after starting LDN at the lowest dose ( 1 line ) everything

improved dramatically within 2 weeks. Everyone commented on the

difference without knowing we had started a new intervention.

Her handwriting is till very good, her colouring in now very neat and

precise.

exercises, look into LDN and try to be a bit braver on biomed front!

Hi ,

Yes it is but not sure how effective it is against opiods in the tiny

doses mu daughter's on. I actually started it to try and regulate

her immune system and was very surprised to see how it affected her

fine motor skills. There was just a couple of other mothers on the

LDN list who had also had the same reaction.

This is quite inteersting as A1 milk (produced by Friesen, Holstein

cows) produces betacasomorphine in the digestive track. I believe

morphine is like opiate, if I am not mistaken....I know of a school in

Northhamptonshire for dyslexics took their kids off milk and their

dyslexic symptoms reduced!

Maybe there is a lesson in this......
