They are not Mehta trained. Dr. Lenke is one of the best in the world for

spinal surgery, but there are no options for early intervention here.

We drove to Chicago and now drive to Birmingham (Dr. Khoury) for our care

because St. Louis is not up on the latest.

Denver Children's Hospital is awesome!!! Dr kson is treating my

grandson Devyn and is Mehta trained with the appropriate frame. Devyn

started with over 40 degrees. He has been in 3 casts and now in his

3rd brace. I don't remember the exact numbers now but he is below 10

degrees. I haven't personally met him because we live 300 miles away

but my daughter says he is absolutely wonderful. If Denver is an

option for you we can highly recommend them!!!

Shara, grammy to Devyn, age 2-1/2, scolisis and Chiari malformation.

Belinda,

If the East or West coast is too far, Dr. Albert at Christus Santa

Childrens Hospital is starting an Early Treatment program in San ,

Tx. This is where we go for Moriah's VEPTR surgeries with Dr and Dr.

. The whole Ortho team is supportive of the EArly TReatment program.

Dr. Albert is the father or Dr. now in Rochester. Dr. A.

is Mehta trained and in the process of getting the correct frame. Just

wanted to throw them out as an option.

I would love to see Dr Nigel Price start an Early Treatment program at

Children's Mercy. He has been invited to ALL of ISOP's trainings, but has not

attended any. We really hope to get him to one soon.

I think is sending him a DVD, article and brochure this week.

Kansas/Missouri really needs a program so people don't have to travel so far!!!

Denver is a great place for early treatment. We see Dr kson at

the Denver Childrens Hospital. They are wonderful. You can see my

sons pictures of his casts in the photo section under Devyn. They do

everything under anesthesia including trimming the cast and

petalling. We have never had a problem. Feel free to ask any

questions you have.

We see Dr. Price. We are going back for a consult w/ him the 9th of April. I

will definetly talk to him about this and maybe (hopefully) that will give him

the nudge.

That would be awesome! We live too far away for me to bug him very much!!! Let

me know how it goes. They do halos and VEPTRs there. All they really need is

Early Treatment Mehta casting and they will have it all.

Yes,

Moriah has had it twice. There are pictures of her in the photos section of

this group. Also, there are pictures of Kylie in halo traction in the

informational booklet in the Info section.
